Advice for selling iPad Air including all my music apps
I've finally become so frustrated with IOS 8 that I've decided to sell my IPad Air 32gb and maybe return in a year or so when things may have settled down. My question is, will I need to delete all my music apps or can I sell it with them still on? There are maybe £300 worth of apps including Auria and 15 of its IAP's from Fabfilter and others. Korg module,iSymphonic with IAP's, Nave, Animoog, Thor, Magellan, Gadget, imini, iSem, iProphet, Thumbjam, Galileo, iFretless Bass, iFretless Guitar, Cubasis, Final Touch and Sample Tank including all IAP's. And many others.
So can I sell it with the apps or is that against Apples terms and conditions?
Seems such a shame to wipe them all off!!!

Your apps are tied to 'your' own App Store login. There's no way for another user to transfer them to their own. I guess you could give away your login , but pretty sure it's all against the T&Cs.
Just unlink your credit card, change emails and sell a bundle...but if you plan returning you will certainly regret it...so if you need the money ,sell only the iPad and wait for iOS 8 to get stable...my iPad came also on 8 sadly. When I updated from 6 to 7 things were not so broken. I randomly cannot load apps inside AB or get the "busy" message.
Korakios, that's what I'll do. Sell my iPad Air only and keep my apps on my iPad mini. That way when I return I won't need to buy them all again.
Sorted.
That sounds like the perfect plan Andy. I did notice you have already gone from maybe return in a year or so to "when I return". This makes your plan an even wiser one. Good move.
AndyE,
If you return ,make sure you use a stable environment and not a new iOS 9!
The thought of IOS 9 sends shivers up my spine. Thanks for your advice. Great forum.
Maybe stupid question, but since there are still iPads on 7.1 on the market why don't you trade one? I think of it often, lately.
I just purchased a 32 gig air 1 new and it came with ios 7.0. 3 or 6 I forget which but I have that on an ipad mini now and updated the air so I am covered either way for a time now at least.
Settings->General->Reset->Erase All Content and Settings
Will completely wipe out your iPad to a fresh blank state and allow its new owner to customize it as his own.
Before doing this, backup your iPad to your iTunes library. When you do buy a new one in the future, you can always restore this old state and effectively get your old iPad back.
Very big in-app-purchases will not be saved in this backup, so if you've bought something like Alchemy by Camel Audio, that has stopped providing access to restoring purchases, you will also need to backup those valuable purchases manually. Instructions for doing this are here:

Many folks here are conveniently making music on iOS 8 - many and varied workflows are the tricks of the trade. This is digital domain and there's always going to be glitches and lazy developers and hence broken apps and stuff. This also happens to some extent on desktops. If you don't want to deal with software updates etc then try getting hardware although you'll find that most hardware will be locked down and with no path to free future iterations. If you think iOS 8 is that bad then try using Android. There are no guarantees that future iOSes won't have issues.
Remember though to do a system RESET on your iPad before selling it. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice everyone. Much appreciated.
I had a similar experience in my vehicle on interstate the other day. I was riding along and a car pulled up beside me with their window down yelling something. I slowed down a little and rolled my window down so I could hear them and they were shouting "you've got a tail light out!". I pulled over and inspected the vehicle and discovered that they were right. After already replacing this same tail light once already, I'd had enough. I quickly drew up a crude sign on a piece of cardboard and sold that car right then and there on the shoulder of the interstate. It was a long walk home, but I made the entire trek with a smile on my face knowing that I'd never have to deal with that damn taillight again.

Become like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot.
Or just use AudioShare.
making music is so personal in it's very nature, you could have all of the recommended kit in the world and if it doesn't work for you it wouldn't mean a thing. The important thing is that you've got enough sense to listen to yourself when yourself is trying to tell you something, everything else pales in comparison.
