  • The wavegrid makes a huge difference in vizualizing the sounds.

  • Cool, really nice UI and I do like the new arp.

  • A welcome update - thanks!

  • Got back into WG after a long hiatus. I'll be a more regular visitor going forward.

  • Much more simple to modify the path....very good :-)

    Free version at the app store. WOW! Thanks for the info guys!

    Perfect for try before you buy!

    The best iOS synth next to it's sibling Wavemapper. Sorry Nave and Animoog!

    Update looks delicious :)

  • You know, I pulled out NAVE and started working a patch called peace or something, its a pad, and wow!!! Haven't really given this one some TLC
    .

  • ^All he is saying is give peace a chance.

    For any body just getting into wavemapper or wavegenerator Wolfgang palm's website has some great presets. Also Alba Ectasy makes great packs.

  • Thanks for the tip Mister @WMWM. So: If you had to have (only) one, mapper or generator, which one? Part two: If you were faced with an enthusiastic but limited fool who was going to try and make sense of (only) one, which one?

  • @JohnnyGoodyear
    Wavemapper is a good choice if you want to use it on iPhone too, and WM has plenty to look at under the main page to feel your way into the synthesis mode and see what's happening. Page one really let's you play around and quickly generate completely new patches. WG has all the under the hood stuff page one and isn't as much of a playground on page one until the learning curve is surmounted. I have both and send presets between em

    Wavemapper for starters, they both lend to each other well (can move tables from WG to WM). Get the desktop model to boot and you have an uber synth by the one who originated the wavetable synthesis method(what so many others have come to adopt). Nothing can touch this...yet...IMVHO.

    BTW, I read that WaveGenerator is up for a TEC award for innovation.

    Edit: Littlewoodg is giving great advise. And I sound like an echo.

  • Not echo: Stereo!

    Mapper it is then.

    Thanks Gents.

  • @JohnnyGoodyear I agree WaveMapper to start with for iPad. However WaveMapper is not universal. For iPhone you'd need MiniMapper.

  • edited January 2015

    @SpookyZoo
    That's right it's a mini! - super cute, the map has way fewer zones than the iPad version, etc.

    very Cool in that it loads all the free extra presets on Mr Palms site like its big bros, and can share stuff with big WM and the WGs as @WMWM notes

    this is a pretty untouchable stable of synths as @WMWM also noted...and the Mini is a super cute price-is-right way in. Its funny-good to get the little dude on the iPad for 4 bucks...

  • Exporting banks through email doesn't work anymore. I get the popup about wavetables used in the bank, then I select 'yes' but nothing happens after that.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

    Also, adjustments to wavetables are not saved. I rename and save the custom wavetable (together with a new preset) and after reselecting it the sound is still the old wavetable.

  • I still have yet to fully investigate and use this synth, even though I bought it when it came out, lol. I don't know, it's just got such an unusual interface that every time I open it my brain just kind of goes... Gah. I'm sure it's probably simpler than that. Just got to one day delve into it...

    Gah.

    @R_2 yep, quick cursory attempts at the email options have not been successful.

    @R_2 ( sorry @1P18 I kept mistakenly tagging you! :))

    I mentioned this on their facebook page. Just got this reply...

    @SpookyZoo thanks

    Do your custom Wavetables get saved correctly? Mine keep changing back to the original version.

  • Hi @R_2 I just had a few quick tests.

    I managed to save the wave info of two newly recorded wavetables using the record method. These were successfully loaded after closing and re-opening app.

    However my custom path point info seems to revert back to an original linear path. Not sure what's going on there.

    What info are you losing? ....the waves, the path or other parameters?

    Sorry it took me a few days to get back to you.

    @SpookyZoo
    In my case it's not saving the adjusted waves in the WT. It keeps reverting back to the original (I do rename them etc).

    It works for you, so perhaps my user folder is corrupted. I will reinstall the app, but since I haven't got a backup of my bank I will wait untill the export through email gets fixed...

    On Facebook I saw Mr. Palm's reply about the export bug. I believe he's incorrect, it also happens with my banks including user wavetables.

    Yes, I've also experienced your problem with the path points. Weird bugs.
