Just to defend our few esteemed Different Drummer customers, they are neither rich nor stupid, but are incredible artists who invest in and support new music possibilities (THANK YOU!!!). Sorry we've offended anybody by offering a boutique drum app. We will have a good sale when we release the Audiobus version but if you can do the same thing with other apps then no need to worry. You can hand program any pattern too but you might miss some nuances...which might make a huge difference.

  • @Ryan - just an F.Y.I. - it is possible to redeem a download code and also free apps from other countries iTunes stores. Requires setting up an account (no credit card required) and providing an address (see details in link). There are a couple of drawbacks, IMHO, multiple iTunes accounts on Mac/PC and you have to log into other account to update apps.

Let me know if you want to do that @Ryan and thanks @Ganthofer

  • @Ganthofer See you say that but according to Apple:

So yes, even if I can make an american account I'd rather not. I don't want to attempt something Apple tells me not to do.. I need them! lol :-) Thanks again @JMSexton but I'll just wait till Friday and pick it up myself! We're talking about $2 here so no big deal. :-)

@Technemedia Seriously? I don't think you need to come here to defend your customers as none of them are here(am i wrong?). You didn't offend anyone by offering an app and did you seriously just come here and tell us all that we can do the exact same thing your app does with other apps we already have? Are you trying to never sell anything? lol Korg and Moog are household names, large companies with overhead to take care of and they don't charge us up the yingyang. Nobody knows who you are, your app doesn't look finished and you are getting upset cause people think you are nuts for charging 3 times as much as apps that looks a million times better and do more then just control drums. Know your market sir/maam. If your plan is to have such a high price that all us serious iOS musicians think you are bonkers and talk about you and you are going to lower the price to something reasonable like $3.99 then this makes a lot more sense. Otherwise, I'm going to continue to think you are out of your mind and I will continue to tell others the same. Either way though, thanks for stopping by and best of luck.

Anyhow, this is a bebot thread, lets focus on that. :-)

    .

  • Yes yes, Bebot is happy and always nice. Man what a long thread this has turned into! Following the Audiobus niceness tradition, we hope everybody at technemedia is okay and we respect what you're trying to do. Just as we assume you respect what we're trying to do, too! Rich people and broke starving people are all the same on the bus! Ok, enough said, time for an app sandwich thanx to Audiobus!

Well, I was going to disguise this terrible poetry by throwing down a quick Audiobus track and put it to a nice melody with some quirky synths...
But I ran out of time and its nearly 8:00, so @JMSexton, here's my Bebot the Robot story:

my mama-bot... she left me. I had no home ||
daddy-synth... he never knew me. I was all alone ||

but now I'm four yrs old and I'm riding the bus!

I'll sing for you, lalala ||
with great effects, I'm polyphonic! ||
    ...now. overdrive. ||

Now I'm 4 yrs old and I'm riding the bus!

Terribly sorry, I was just overcome with the desire to win a contest... for a $1.99 app.

And if anyone has the inspiration to put it to song, go for it.

  • @Hmtx I liked it. :-)

    Shucks, thanks @Ryan.

Ooh and I got a +1 to take the lead!!!!

  • edited April 2013

here's a little experimental track using bebot, droner, glitchbreaks and glitch1. first thing i did with bebot.

  • @Hmtx FTW! Haha I assume most ppl already have this...congrats Hmtx I'll PM you with the redeem code.

  • edited April 2013

Thanks, Flo26...you are a rare person with a great perspective on music and life! Just so everybody is clear, we also have free apps but most emphatically we totally respect the great apps out there and are also very happy they aren't priced at their true value ;-) It's just a matter of whether you want to sell few for more or more for little or everything for free. Major props to all music devs however they can survive. We are enjoying the high quality and closer contact with our few customers which is sort of like a music club for connoisseurs. Viva la difference!

Congrats to Bebot and I didn't bring my app up in this thread either...where it don't belong.

  • Woohoo! I won! Many thanks to JMSexton. First test drive just made me laugh, but the sounds are fantastic.

I Can't wait to gear up that little robot with some Magellan compression and fx, then send him thru LoopyHD.

  • @technemedia check your inbox. and please can we leave this thread to bebot ;-)

    BEBOT!!!

    Congrats @Htmx :-)

  • Every time an app I already own gets on the Bus, it's like a little holiday for me. But none more so than Bebot.

I have started gigs with a conversation between Bebot and me, (BeBot projected on the screen - Shades of Winsor McCay! Audience loves it. Not to mention some great jams using the app, and have really come to love the little guy (and his lighting guy/gal/bot).

With Bebot on the Bus, this is the continuation and growth of an already beautiful friendship...

I have to thank my friend Jordan Rudess for turning me onto the possibilities of Bebot, not to mention for developing SpaceWiz, which reopened a door I had closed long ago.

Now, if only he would do an update on that - or any of his apps, actually, to get it on The Bus, that would make my year right there...

  • lol @Simon. Get out of my head.

  • Finally got it! Woohoo! Super cool app. Thanks everyone :-)

  • This thread does not compute in my brain hole. Can someone asplain:

Is Bebot actually good, or are you all poking fun?

  • It's a fun app with some decent sounds. Worth the money for me, and non-musicians and kids can have fun with it too.

  • It's sounds are simple but great and its fun to play and def worth the price of admission

  • I like it. I was thinking the same way until I purchased it. Jordan Rudess convinced me in a video review.

  • @jesse_ohio yeah no joke. It's a good music app. Fun to play and original. For $1.99 I can't see you being upset :-)

  • edited April 2013

@jessie_ohio - if you haven't already, go to YouTube and search for "Rudess meets Bebot"

And more functionality has been added since that video was created (besides AudioBus, obviously!)

  • @drelbs thanks for the video tip! This app looks awesome... and kind of adorable!

  • YOU ARE WRONG. It's VERY adorable!

I just wish it had a "hug the bebot" IAP.

  • He kinda reminds me of the Robot with the cardigan from Clone High that calls everyone "Wesley" but way cuter.

    Bebot +1
