Creating your own midi arps for Z3ta+
Just thought I'd pass this tip along. Since 2 updates ago you can now import your own midi files into Z3ta+. To do this, you need to place the midi files into the iTunes shared folder either with iTunes or iFunbox. Next time you launch Z3ta+, it'll import all of the new midi files automatically. You can then use them as arps within the app.
The caveat to this is that whatever midi file you import, Z3ta+ will only use the first bar of the file for the arp, ignoring the rest. If you have a longer midi file that you want to use, say 2 or 4 bars long, it can still be done. You need a program that can modify the midi file to compress the desired midi data down to one bar. One program that can do this is Reaper (free trial if you don't own it). After importing the midi file into Reaper, edit the file so that you have the 2 or 4 bars worth of midi data that you want to use. Then grab the end of the segment and pull it left to compress the notes so that it's exactly one bar long. From there you can export it out of Reaper as a midi file. That's it.
Once you get the new midi files imported into Z3ta+, you'll need to play with the speed using the adjustments on the arp tab, as desired.
