Drums XD updated
It's been over a year, thought this was dead. Now I have to actually learn to use the thing.

Thanks for nod. Will download it again and stare in wonder at what a useless drummer I am
Updated to version 1.5.2 and it now works in Audiobus (v 2.1.8) and previous initialization error and IAA problem solved on iOS 8.1.2 .
Nice...this is my drummer's favorite app driving through an Alesis head. Just had our monthly jam, so he'll have to wait until next month.
I tried sequencing this app with BM2 but had a crazy inconsistent experience. At first it seemed to work, but was dropping the first beat. Then it slowed to a crawl, like something running out of power. Since then only a couple notes seems to trigger.
The notes are mapped all over the place, banks C throgh G.
I tried it with pro midi, and could play the drums with their keyboard, but sequencing not so much.
little midi gave one drum sound and then that died. haven't tried genome yet since it's always baffled me.
The other thing is that Drums XD only seems to send the one kit. Even if you change it, it sounds the same. Of course, who knows how much of this I'm doing right, much less optimally. I look at the individual drum midi settings and am not sure how to use these. Haven't delved too much into mapping notes and CCs and all that jazz. Been a long time since I learned some of this stuff in college.
I haven't used this app in a while, but I find the interface so difficult that I stopped using it. No velocity layers either. Still no real drum solution on iOS , eagerly awaiting Derek's drum app, although I haven't heard much as of late.
To be honest though, I don't do much that requires pretend drums anyway, just for writing, which I haven't done in a while. So take my comments with a grain of salt.
Sadly it seems Derek's app will not be coming at all perhaps? It has been talked about for quite some time and would be nice but not looking good at this point given his very busy schedule. Not to mention It looks like updates to the app would be few and far between.

I don't know, I haven't communicated with him in a while. If it comes out I'll be happy though. I wish GarageBand would incorporate the drummer from the desktop version, that's great for writing.
