There is also a non-realtime possibility open to those with the appropriate gear — use Airplay to send the signal to an AppleTV (a thing of which I've no experience) and take the optical out of that into something with an optical in (good luck finding that these days — my old Macbook 2007 has optical in and out, but anything this decade seems to be optical out only). I suppose one could, if inclined, and didn't have songs to write instead, experiment with Airplay receiving/recording on a computer or device running XBMC/Kodi, but again, not done that personally.
@Paulinko Thanks, I suppose for now I'll wait for Roland to get AB and IAA working...
Eventually though, I'm thinking of getting a Line6 Sonic Port VX, also for use with guitar, and its built-in mics.
I suppose I can then connect the source iPad from its headphone port to the VX AUX input, and then connect the VX to the receiving iPad lightning port; the source iPad would have a MIDI keyboard plugged in to its lightning port.
Only problem with AirPlay is latency.
For those who have got the gear iCM2/4?
