How to record from iTrack Dock to VocaLive

Hey guys,
i use vocalive at the moment to record my vocals... (over an focusrite itrack dock with my ipad).

but i can't get the second input on the dock (plugged in guitar) to show up in vocalive. i would like to record both vocals and guitar in vocalive, but i only see the guitar in the focusrite tool "tape" and i csn't t tape as an input to vocalive eith audiobus so i can record the guitar track as well there... any ideas?

  • Use the little circled i on system audioinput

Awesome! Thank you Ted! Will try it asap!

  • Ok i did it exactly this way with the 2 seperate inputs. Now i can get guitar and vocals into vocalive but how i can record those in 2 individual tracks at the same time? I want my vox and guitar in 2 seperate tracks (but recorded at the same time) is that not possible? Thanks

Use two Audiobus lanes. Put the mic on Vocal live and the guitar on one of the many excellent guitar effects apps. Place a DAW, Cubasis, Auria, etc. In the output slots.

  • ok... i have a few apps i already bought... so as input the two channels, as effects vocalive for vocals, amplitube for guitar and auria as output, that would work then right?

the only thing is that i really liked the way to work with vocalive as a tool to cut tracks etc. it's very touch friendly... haven't used auria that much, lets see how that goes :-) thanks

  • And just another question, so i have to work with Auria or a similar app in the output?

There is no way to use Vocalive (the studio extension packages with 8 tracks) for this?

My dream would be if i can get both tracks seperately into the VocaLive Recorder and can work with these individual tracks in there, but i just can't find out how i can get those two tracks seperately into VocaLive, maybe i'm also doing something wrong....

    Again what i have:

    iTrack Dock Studio

    • Acoustc/Electric Guitar connected (Input 2)
    • Studio Mic connected (Input 1)

I want to record at the same time vocals and the guitar, and i would prefer to do this directly in the Vocalive Studio (8 Tracks), but i can't get the tracks seperately in there, if i connect via Audiobus and record i have both inputs in the same track....

I can use Auria as well, but i just really loved the interface of the VocaLive

  • Guitar input 1
    Mic input 2

  • This is a bit late for Hofmae, but the Studio addon in Vocalive can be used as an 8 track DAW. For my needs, Auria is an overshoot. There's a user manual embedded in Vocalive (Menu/Help/User Manual).
