iPod Touch 6 - any interest?

Lots of rumors surrounding whether this device will ever see the light of day, but just wondering if this community sees the value in it. I like the idea of a small, dedicated synth/guitar/fx/etc module with the newer A8 processor - that's not my phone. Especially interested since I'm looking into getting the iConnectAudio4+ interface that allows charging of both a single 2.1a device as well as a single 1.0a device while sharing midi and audio between the two.

So - it has merit to me. Just wondering what everyone else's thoughts are.

I've seen rumors that we may see it in March along with the iWatch - or that Apple may be done with the touch series. Anyone heard anything more solid on it?

  • iPad Air specs in tiny package? If so, it sounds great. The problem with the model Apple uses is that the iPod touch is always at least a year behind in the technology as far as ram and processor.

  • Maybe Apple will update it this fall but I won't be surprised if they don't and phase it out completely. The touch is something Apple has marketed primarily towards kids, and I think we're at a point where Apple sees the iPad mini as replacing the touch.

Lots of kids have smartphones these days, especially Android phones, so Apple sees getting an iPad into their hands as more realistic than an iPod touch.
