iFunbox alternatives

Hi everyone. Just got an Air 2 and am trying to transfer all my Auria projects, presets, third party drum loops, etc. from my iPad 2 to the Air 2. Restore from backup only left me with an empty version of Auria while MTD and all other recording apps restored perfectly. I know the restore is different with 3rd party files in Auria, so I tried using iFunbox, which couldn't detect my iPad 2 (iOS 8.1.3), saying I need latest version of iTunes, which I already have. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iFunbox to no avail. I also tried dragging Auria project files from iTunes to the PC, but i can't do that either. After dragging, nothing happens. I'm hoping someone here can help me out with this. Super frustrated right now.

Comments

  • Maybe GoodReader Pro or iZip Pro?

  • iMazing without doubt

  • iExplorer?

  • If I remember correctly PC does not allow you to transfer auria projects back to auria from the PC, but on Mac this works. I believe that is referring to iTunes, not ifunbox. But I could be wrong.

Not sure why your ipad2 is not being detected by ifunbox though, or why ifunbox would be referencing iTunes, unless I understood incorrectly. Are you trying to plug both iPads in at once?

As far as drum loops, etc, if they were IAP's they will download again after you restore purchases. I'm not sure about presets, that's something I should check in ifunbox as I do have a few settings is like to save if I ever have to restore.

I read somewhere that iFunbox doesn't work with ios 8. It does with ios 7, one of the reasons I still have 7. The site of iFunbox also says that it supports ios 7, on their main page.

  • Having no dice with 8. Only real hang up with it, but a considerable one.

  • Maybe a lot of work, but Dropbox?

No probs here with iOS8 and Mac.

  • Did a return to factory settings and restored from backup again, which worked with everything except my IR files. When I opened Auria's convolution reverb plug, there were no files. Had to restore purchases but IR files didn't download (strangely, all my loops and gog files did). I finally transferred the IR folder from my iPad 2 to my Air 2 using iTunes file sharing. Thanks for all your suggestions and willingness to help me. Happy to up and running.

  • Works for me on IOS 8 and Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion

  • No iFunBox issues on iOS 8 and Windows 8.1 or ever for that matter.

  • I use itools.

  • iFunbox 2.9.2 works for me on WinXP64 with iPhone 5 running 8.1.2 and iPadAir running 7.1.2. I can't connect my iPhone to iTunes since it's still at 11.1.1.11 and needs to be at least 11.2 for iOS 8.1.2. Which I'll need to do before I try and update to 8.1.3 so I have a backup.

  • SyncIOS.

  • I noticed that after updating to 8.1.3 ifunbox was not working so I came to this thread

    https://forums.epicgames.com/threads/989419-IOS-8-1-3-and-iFunbox

where there is a (clean) link to a newer version.

    Hope it helps!

Does it work with iOS 8.4?

  • I think 8.2 was the last IOS that fully supports iFunbox. I was on 8.3 but was able to install it just in time.

I think I might still have the install file somewhere. I wonder if it will work for others.

  • When i was on 8.3 i had no issues using ifunbox classic or the normal version with windows 7.Didnt test ifunbox with 8.4 yet, but i think it works. Since i seen a lot of posts of ifunbox not working with 8.3, i start to think its only mac related.

Just tested and it doesnt work anymore with ios 8.4. and Itools doesnt work either.

Hello i-tunes im back again :)

  • No version of iOS supported ifunbox. Ifunbox was a hack the door to which Apple closed.

  • Take a look at this list of alternatives to that.

The lastest version of iFunBox works for me on the Mac OSX El Capitan and iPad Pro 12.9" with iOS 9.31...

Used it yesterday to copy some pianos from Logic Pro X to Auria Pro on my iPad Pro... Good shit!

As one of the first users of iFunbox, I have now switched over to Copytrans. It's free, has a much better interface than iFunbox now and does everything I need. Transfer music, album art, files etc.

Give it a try. I've tried a bunch of others like iExplorer and syncios. They're not good in comparison..imo.
Haven't heard of iMazing though will check that out!

I think you get the copytrans control center then add (from CT cc) the others you need. Small download too IIRC and can run off a usb stick.
Only recommend the free ones! Don't pay for anything and I predict you'll be happy.

  • Copytrans works great here as well.
