SAMPLR - ways how to record/export main mix?
... if there are any at all?
Comments
Start Samplr, start AudioShare, add Samplr as input for the recording and record away.
Hahahha! Thanks Samu I was not using sampler much but just tried using the mic and bam! That was easy. This may be a ton of fun.
@Samu
You Sir are the man!
Samu you are the man and audio share is the app! I had never tried the web browser! I can download tons of free loops and open them in all kinds of apps so freaking easily now. This is an absolute goldmine!
@Tritonman Try the Wifi-Drive feature too, it's awesome
Samplr is awesome period. I never know walking in what I'm going to walk out with, but I like that in a bar thoroughly modern piece of iOS software.
Can I open files from my computer with wifi drive?
@Tritonman2 Yepp, that's the point. Use your web-browser and navigate to the iOS device when Wifi-Drive is enabled in AudioShare.
just tried it. wifi drive works like a charm! btw. i´m in is & OS X 1010
Ahh my computer is hard wired and perhaps that is why I am not seeing it.
Still it shows a couple of numbers but I have no idea what to do!
Type those numbers into your web-browser http://numbers
But if your iPad is on wifi and your computer isn't, it won't see the IP address.
As long as all devices are connected to the same network/router that supplies the ip-addresses for the devices (wifi or wired) it will work
I use both wired and wireless devices in my home network and it works just fine.
Which browser the pc or iPad?
You can use any device that is on the network, PC, Mac, Linux, iPad, iPhone and so on.
I use it among other things to transfer files between my iPhone and my iPad.
On the iPad or iPhone it's easy to use Audioshares built-in browser and connect to the other device.
I also use it to transfer samples and recordings to and from my computer...
As long as your devices are on the same network, enable wifi-drive in AudioShare and use your computer or other device to browse to the iOS-Device where AudioShare is running with wifi-drive enabled.
Holy, you know, shit.
10 points and the last piece of mamma's best cornbread to Mister @Samu.
Almost feels indecent looking at my iPad files up there on the big screen. I am a camper who has been made happy.
What about audio share for importing loops to launchpad? Does it work?
Ah right, @samu. Good luck Mr T
Samu I can not thank you enough for showing me the virtues of Audioshare. This app is fast becoming one of the most useful apps I own for making a sample library!
You're welcome, i do wish more apps supported AudioShare directly
M4A is considerably smaller than wav correct? I will be able to save to this format and then open in cubasis ? Just checking before I start this library. which do you recommend?
It's smaller yes, but also lossy compression, so for Cubasis i'd keep my files uncompressed (*.wav).
Ditto.
Thanks so much.
Same. Maybe we can all be more active in making this happen. Request it from apps you love and publicly thank devs who implement it. It's so much better than the alternatives.
For an app like Samplr, I'd just assume it not have a local audio file system at all and instead do it all via Audioshare. Same with Sector! Even stuff like mix down... do it locally and then immediately transfer to Audioshare and wipe it from the app. We all (I think) want a single adio file system and at the moment AudioShare is the best/most viable option.
Alas, Audioshare isn't free and I doubt many devs would be willing to insist their users also make another purchase in order to use their app. Could be an option though. Maybe Sector can be an example app to inspire other devs.
Troublesome thought but a good one.
^^ great idea for audio share options but I also would like Samplr to be fully functional in a self contained context as well, and Marcos is aware of the vital need for an intuitive file management system that allows bundling of all samples used in a song together in one folder that you can save to and load from, but how long it will take to reach us is another story so I wait.
Think that's sorta my hope/point. There is already an awesome audio file system app. Part of me wants devs like Marcos to focus on their app's particular slice of awesome and outsource the file system stuff to Audioshare instead of seeing apps reinventing the file system wheel over and over. All that time is spent recreating it and a) they are implemented with varying degrees of success, b) take away time from work on the app's special sauce and c) still, often, leave us with duplicate files taking up space.
For sure, this is a stop gap—think music makers, or music makers that use samples or create loops, are fundamentally at odds with the sandboxing on iOS. On the desktop, A,B and C are all handled automagically via the Finder or Explorer.
