It's just marketing, it doesn't mean they're going to fix the bugs.
It does mean we exist to them you can sure bet , even if we are their red headed step child!

Sure, but this campaign was created in an advertising agency, the people involved have no connection whatsoever to the engineers responsible for the code. They're selling a dream, nothing more.
What's more, the people who make decisions probably have absolutely no idea about the problems that plague musicians in iOS. This is what happens in very large organisations, and what's more they don't really care.

Red headed step children can be annoying see.
No comments on video...too bad. If we start complaining about ios8 and the luck of proper multi core support we could ruin the promo!
While I agree with the above comments I also am mindful that with others like us being targeted by said promotions there is hope that as this field of endeavor grows so will Apple support. If we become a bigger part of the bottom line we will get more support. Perhaps if only to make the company more profitable.
As a relative newcomer to music-making on my iPad, I've never understood the Apple Sucks blowback. Not saying it's unjustified, just that I've never felt like Apple is sticking it to me at all. Quite the opposite, here I sit working on a concept album using my Apple iPad and a whole slew of apps that work well together. Sure there are a few that don't, and God knows a Midi n00b like myself would love to see rock-solid, easy peasy Midi standards established ala Audiobus, but, there you go. I'm a happy beneficiary of a platform and ecosystem started by and proliferated by Apple.
FWIW, back in the dark days pre-iPod, it was the creative arts (Music, Graphic Design, etc.) that helped keep Apple alive. In the age of $49 knock-off tablets at Walmart and declining tablet sales in general, I doubt Apple will forget the "Think Different" types anytime soon. New platform, plenty of room for improvement, sure. But I don't think for a second creatives are merely marketing leverage. Our stock is solid with Cupertino.
I'm not saying Apple sucks, I love my iPad and I am grateful for the wonderful music-making apps. I'm just pointing out that there is inevitably a disconnect between a marketing campaign and the realities of software engineering and business
@richardyot I hear you. I spent 15 years in marketing and can say with some authority it is a profession fairly wedged between politicians and lawyers as a whole "who are, at best, one long step removed from honest men," to paraphrase Abe Lincoln.
Apple's marketing is some of the best out there. Meaning they can mislead and deceive with admirable aplomb. But the platform just hasn't given me fits like it seems to have given others. Lucky, I suppose
All in good time eustressorson.
One can dream right? : )
Has anyone checked out this iOS 9 article which says that the big focus will be on stability and optimization. If they do follow through with this perhaps there will be a less of a gap between the ad and real world audio support for iOS?
Nanostudio. Said it.
Laughably comedic in regards to their ios snafu's. A real shame too, I do wonder if the corp realise what a total game changer ios music is & the vast potentials it holds. Sadly it's the same old story of the small ground level workers making the scene with the big guns jumping on the bandwagon after the hard work has been done.
