Vocalive on sale

Very useful app, which i own and use regularly. From about $20 to about $5.

  • If this app is selling for 5 bucks, definitely grab it.

  • Only one track or is this full version?

  • Is it all presets or can you customize parameters?

@Hmtx It's surprisingly deep. I tend to think of iOS vox things as toys, but this can get you most of where you need to go (with a decent mic)....this pic is just a quick snap of a working screen. Other options beyond those seen here, but as you can see you can modify etc.

Also has panelling which is nice.

  • Had my eye on this for a while, a couple of questions though if anyone knows the answer, if I get the stand alone version, will the effects be available in amplitude or will I have to buy the iap. Also is there anything the stand alone version does that amplitude doesn't in regards to being more focused on vocals?

  • Should add that I bought the 'studio section' for a hefty 15 bucks and while it probably is worth it for my specific needs currently, it's by no means the 'fully fledged daw' they boast of.....but for working on a bunch of vocal tracks (as I currently am) it offered some intuitive advantages to mitigate the unintuitive bits. For the record it falls into that 'I've been thinking about buying this for a while and I'm glad that I pulled the trigger, glad to have the functionality, but I still feel a bit ripped off by it, but, oh well, what the hell, just don't think about it anymore and try to ignore that rooked/slightly grubby feeling and all will be well...' etc.

  • I demand jewel inlays on stone panels for when I am feeling flamboyant!

  • @Tritonman Have you seen our bathroom? Good acoustics too...

If you buy the VocaLive app in standalone, you cannot use the effects in AmpliTube. If you buy VocaLive effects IAP in AmpliTube, they are transferred via iCloud to the five AmpliTube apps across all your devices.

    • AmpliTube (for iPhone)
    • AmpliTube LE (for iPhone)
    • AmpliTube Free (for iPhone)
    • AmpliTube (for iPad)
    • AmpliTube Free (for iPad)

In other words, IAPs are only transferred among the five apps listed above.

The non vocal specific effects in VocaLive are the same as the stomps in AmpliTube. For example, the modern looking compressor effect in VocaLive has the same modeling as the red Dyna-Comp in AmpliTube, just a different face.

  • @supanorton

Thanks, was about to buy the stand alone version, bit of an odd decision on ik's part imo, hopefully they will sort out the iap thing between all the different products that are similar, good to know all the other effects are the same tho, I thought I might be missing out on something if I just went for the iap's in amplitude.

  • @JohnnyGoodyear

I was tempted to get the studio section iap, as I wanted to see if I gelled with it, looks fantastic from the screen shots, but always thought it was a bit pricey so that put me off a bit, would be good if it transferred to the other apps, bet there a few peeps out there that have ended up paying a small fortune getting the same stuff in all the different amplitude editions and vocalive, it's not nice being wronged by software.

  • @mister_rz Agreed. I think if this was in the seven or eight dollar range they would have made a lot more sales. As indicated, I don't really regret the purchase, but hope I use it as much as I think I will. Certainly a good way to do things with vocals which could be done in other ways, but this cuts to the chase (and thus, hopefully, will actually be used).
