Unbelievably great video

Not ios, but just awesome, so who cares?!

Stevie wonder, 1973, German TV.

  • Awesome is right; what a band. How about those Orange amps? Makes me want to play in a band again.

  • Probably the same orange amps black sabbath used on German tv! Sonethibg funky about a natural p bass, orange amp, and curly cable. And Reggie McBride of course.

  • Enter the room no HD required.

  • Damn he's good. They're good. IT'S good.

  • Nice! I saw Stevie Wonder in 1980. It's one of the best concerts I've been to.

And I love his keyboards ... Fender Rhodes, Hohner Clavinet and Arp 2600!

  • VH1 Classic used to play this almost every day. Love it. Lots of great music footage on 70's German TV is up on youtube.

  • I listened to songs in the key of life straight through today in my drives during work, just brilliant. I think Stevie wonder is an artist who is just so good that you forget how good he is due to the songs just being ingrained in your memory.

  • Incidentally, if you want some cool Stevie stories, listen to the audionowcast podcast, his right hand man, Rob Arbittier is on there and the host, Mike Rodriguez was a keyboard tech for Stevie at one time. Mike's also a huge iOS guy. It's my favorite podcast, I wish they did more than one per month but they're all really top guys in their industries and therefore very busy.

  • @mrufino1 That's a great tip. Never heard of the podcast, but will surely seek it out. And as for your take on Stevie, I agree. National Treasure etc.

true. great performance. great musicians. the white guitar player guy is michael sombello i think - from "Shes a Maniac" from Flashdance - fame

  • Now that's 'in the pocket', the band are just cooking! Wow.

  • Yes, it's Michael Sembello. The musicians are listed in one of the comments. Deniece Williams on backing vox as well. Ollie Brown is the drummer, I didn't know much about hi but he's amazing. And Reggie McBride on bass. Nate Watts joined about 2 years later and still plays with Stevie.

Check out the songs in the key of life classic album special, I watched that last night, inspired by this one, just amazing.

  • I love that special. That series has some gems in it.

I listened to this video twice tonight. Thanks for linking it up!

Ollie Brown also did percussion on some Stones tours in the 70s when they had Billy Preston on keys. Some nights were better than others, but they had their moments.
