Guitar setup on ios
I wonder if there is a 'best' ios setup for guitar. Usually I go interface or system audio as input, guitar app as effect and output to loopy or whatever. Normally I open from the AB slot, but sometimes JamUp/Bias wants to be loaded first... I get confused when Bias inside JamUp goes to AB.
Have you found any rules? Is it better to use IAA or AB? In AB is there a difference in the slots for JamUp, Bias, ToneStack as they can go into all slots? Except opening AB first it seems the order of opening or inserting apps matters...
Thanks for sharing your experience

I only really use Jamup without Bias but I found that Jamup will not work in the Input slot when trying to record into Cubasis (or Multitrack DAW) as there is no yellow monitor on the track. Using System Audio in Input and Jamup in the FX slot works fine though.
Using Jamup as IAA in Cubasis was also a problem. Quite often when using undo to remove an unwanted take caused Cubasis to crash out. Using Erase works better but you have to remember to clear out the Trash!
I don't know what best is other than what's best for me. I might be compromising on quality (I know some people see bias as holy grail) but I prefer everything under one hood as I find in TS. I really like the sound of the amps and general effects and that the midi implementation is well catered for. I have two gripes: I haven't found a decent autowah or envelope follower within tonestack. I'm also finding the latency annoying even at lowest buffer setting. It is in fact worse than I found on Impaktor despite it being the same old 128frames. I only find it problematic only with faster passages/riffs nonetheless quite annoying albeit not unplayable. I currently run it in standalone mode on iPhone 5s but I used to run it within audiobus in the fx slot. I don't think there is a difference where it is placed other than when in the input slot it will only process direct input rather than whatever generates from the AB input.
When recording guitar tracks, I always open AB, then Jamup and Auria. Straightforward, always works for me. Occasionally drop Tonestack effects into the FX slot. Hope that helps
@AlterEgo: hi, JamUp works in the input slot fine for me, but I put an effect in the effect slot (Stereodesigner for instance). And then you can record Stereodesigner in Multitrack Daw.
Lately my favorite guitar app is Flying Haggis - and I have most of the big apps: JamUp, Bias, Tonestack (with Motherload). Flying Haggis really is a great app, it blends really good with my Fender.
GarageBand is my favorite recording app, but it doesn't work any more in AB, a bad thing!!!
Luckily Flying Haggis is possible as an in-app in GarageBand. But its less flexible cause I like to use an extra effect, like Stereodesigner or Svep, in AB, to widen the sound a bit.
Bias is great but I seldom use it cause its too CPU intensive when in AB, and I get tics or latency (depending on buffer size) which takes away the fun in playing/recording.
I seldom use Auria in AB for the same reason: too big CPU eating. Sometimes I use Auria to edit after I record.
I have iPad 3 with ios 7.

FWIW, and perhaps you meant in some other way, but I just opened AB and ran up launchpad into steroedesigner into GB and it recorded well.
@JohnnyGoodyear:
For me it doesn't work.
I am trying to record my guitar as an audio track in GarageBand in AB. Flying Haggis in input slot, GB in output slot. There's just no sound in GB. I have some experience with these things. Of course I put the monitor switch on in GB. I don't know what Launchpad is, but with my setup it should work, but it doesn't.
When I put Multitrack Daw in the input slot, and GB in the output slot, I can hear and record in GB the sound from Multitrack Daw. But with guitar playing it just doesnt work anymore ( it did work but recently it doesn't anymore, I think some update is responsible for that).
