Logic has been cheaper than the competition for years now, especially when you factor in the GB of content it comes with. Hasn't stopped new DAWs from appearing (Bitwig), or old DAWs from releasing successful updates. Apple's price for Logic is so unreasonable for most established DAWs, I have a feeling they just treat it like an outlier and continue pricing to support their current infrastructure like always.
Though the recent trend towards subscription based pricing is interesting too.
I'll check that out.
Dells and Acers are cheap because they're built like crap. When I bought my MacBook Pro though the Dell alternative was more expensive, and the build and screen quality were highly inferior.
Macs might cost more, but in terms of value for money (excluding the Mac Pro) you're getting a good deal. iMacs are stupidly good value.
This is true. Apple is not in the business of making cheap products.
We're talking about different things it seems. I too think macs are a good value.
