AudioStretch with AB2 support coming - video inside

So, I just got this on TestFlight yesterday:

No release date yet, but it's coming :-)

Comments

  • @Peter321so whatcha think, whatcha think, whatcha think?

  • It works well, there are a few bugs like it not showing up in AB unless it's already running, but very cool.

I initially though it would be cooler if the developer implemented IAA so you could add FX inside AudioStretch and export it - but that would not allow the realtime manipulation of the sound like I'm showing in the video.

So for sounddesign it freakin' awesome and the possibilities are endless with all the cool FX apps out there for iOS.

And with the 3.5 update that's coming first, getting sound INTO AudioStretch is also easy if you have AudioShare (which you MUST have if you are working with audiofiles on iOS ;-) ).

  • @Peter321 OK. That's real enthusiasm :) As I think I own about every FX app ever made for iOS I obviously need to have a serious play with this. Thanks for the input.

  • @JohnnyGoodyear No problem, I just think it's cool what you can do with just an iPad and it's great to have direct dialogue with developers, so I want to support them.

I'm looking forward to this update. I've got a number of 'sample scrubbers' (Voco, Samplr, some of the effects apps such as Dedalus) but none of them match the quality of AudioStretch. When you 'scrub' the sample, even very slowly, the audio quality is excellent, unlike the others who's results get a bit grainy.

With AB integration this will get a serious amount of use from me.

  • Am also looking forward to this, the new update (though welcome) doesn't allow recording live tweakings with Audiostretch, which I feel, is one of it's strengths. Yep, the scrubbing quality is very good.

  • I've just released AudioStretch version 3.6 to the iOS App Store. At long last, AudioStretch supports Audiobus :-)

  • Well done @GerryBeauregard, this makes me happy :)

Great job. Thanks This manipulates samples like no other app.
Now if Audiostretch and Samplr could have a baby that app would be a thing of beauty

  • Here's a pre audiobus mess around with audiostretch

  • Brilliant I'm going to have a lot of fun with this one now

I see that you warn against iOSv7 users updating because of a crash issue. Is a fix in the pipeline?

  • I'm on 7.1.1 and crashes if I browse to load an audio file. If I use 'open in' via Audioshare it's fine though.

One thing missing for me now is dedicated volume for the app, so I can fade in/out sounds from AudioStretch into my AB chain. The current volume slider controls overall volume.

  • What do you mean for sound design. I don't really understand. Thanks!

  • I think sound design = what he did in the OP video. tweaking, playing live thru effects.

    Impressive demo @peter321 !!

  • Great stuff !
    cheers

  • is this update not good for iOS 7.1.2. ?

It says no but i updated before realizing and tried last night and it was working for me in AB through Dedalus

  • guess I'll take the plunge, I hope there's a fix for whatever the issue is on the way.

  • Now that is fun!

  • I picked this up when it was free, but have to say I never got around to trying it until I just saw this thread and the demos - very impressed how easy it is to use, and how smooth it sounds, no glitching at all! I'm more a synth person than a sample person, but this is an awesome tool!

  • A bit OT, but lets say i wanna do this in a PC enviroment.
What would be the application of choice?
Most specifically play around at zero speed.

I'd say Reaktor and you have a multiple choice of instruments from masters like RachMiel...and others
