Auto Sampler Update 02/25/15
Auto Sampler by mark carlotto added Audiobus and iOS 8 support in the update. You can record samples into the app, it will detect the pitches, assign them to keys, and save the files for each sample. You can then save the set and use it by playing the built-in keyboard or via midi. You can load multiple sample sets to have a more layered sound.
If you could put this app into the output slot of Audiobus, and export recorded samples, you'd be a few steps away from having a sound font editor on iOS. The samples are automatically named with a number and the name of the set. I suspect the number is the midi note value of the sample.
Here's a song created using the app with voice samples recorded via the iPad mic. It was played with Chordion and the drum sounds are from Chordion.
