How the heck did you wind up here?

Towards the end of 2013 I finally found a nice demo of SampleTank's Miroslav Philharmonik iap by the one and only Doug...the true gateway! Back then he mentioned the AB forum on almost every video.

Thanks @thesoundtestroom keep it up!

  • Audiobus unlocked the potential, so it's the logical place to be. I'm a full time squatting resident now

  • Soundtestroom's endless nagging/pimping gawd bless 'im.

  • Yup. This.

  • I quit Facebook and missed the iOS musician group (only thing I miss about fb!), so I came here. I see some of the same folks are here.

  • All google ios music searches lead here.

  • Use Audiobus and started here looking to learn more about AB, but found so much good iOS music info here its become a regular place to hang out.

Re-awoke my iPad which had been dormant for a couple of years after seeing a review for Gadget - had to have it, so updated the iOS, then discovered Audiobus and a whole new world opened up. Searching for feedback on apps via Google brought me here and (with Doug's vids) helped me make informed purchases.

Disappointed with the recent censorship of 'bad purchase' thread, so hope the forum keeps it's balanced, unbiased feedback on new app performance. I don't want to hear everything is awesome, cos it ain't.

  • Doug got me here, but it's the quality of character (characters?) that keeps me coming back. Helps that it's always hopping ;)

  • I was looking for a video of a cat drinking from a toilet. Why, where am I?

iMS20 pulled me in.....next thing Audiobus was rumoured soon to be released....the rest.........as they say......

  • I wondered if something like AB existed, Googled around and discovered AB would be released within a few months. Bought it the day it came out and became a forum member within a few days.

  • Doug got Me here too! I really think he is a legend already. I have learned so much from him and from all the great folks that help each other here. No matter how dumb the question may be, there's always someone willing to help. That's awesome!

  • I’ve been lurking for ages (because the previous model of this website offered to sign me in under google or twitter but failed every time, now it doesn’t so I can post and comment). I only went to audiobus when I needed to venture further than doing everything in iMS-20 or GarageBand.

Reports about AudioBus started appearing on the MultiTrack DAW forum a couple of years ago. I got on the AudioBus mailing list and followed Michael on Twitter, which ultimately led me here.

  • I don't remember! Was I drugged??!

I think it was when the forum was first created and Audiobus first became available but my memory is fuzzy now!

  • Google searches to try to figure out how to use my numerous unused apps kept leading here.

  • TJ -> Loopy -> Audiobus 1-> Forum. It definitely helped me getting rid of my FB addiction. Little I knew it would develop into another pathology!

  • Used to post on palm sounds, as there was a nice ios community there, then ash closed it down for a while, so I gravitated to a new site back then called discchord and would post occasionally on synthtopia too, from them I heard about audiobus and followed its development. After ab and this site launched I'd pop in and check out what everyone was saying, but never registered, then signed up finally late last year as its a great community of ios fiends.

I honestly don't remember, but been here from day one, and after 6445 visits, I'm still impressed.

  • Having purchased my first iPhone two Septembers ago (after fiddling around with a friend's copy of GB on his iPad), it was a no-brainer to get a copy for myself and Google searches for GB info soon leads one to Audiobus, which of course I had to have! The rest is history. This forum is useful for all things iOS music-wise beyond AB, and I am grateful for the help and camaraderie that can be found here.

It's cosy here in the trenches...

  • I have been using Mac computers for graphics and music since the mid-eighties. Ever hear of Opcode's Studio Vision Pro? Apple's famed early '90s "Knowledge Navigator" video alerted me to the fact that Apple was probably pursuing a tablet device from that time on. So, when iPad 1st generation started shipping, I was one of the first to purchase. Now, with my iPhone and iPad Air2, I am focusing on doing more music production in iOS; instead of being just an appaholic. I still have Digital Performer, Ableton Live and Garageband on my Mac; but iOS music production is really starting to mature; and I am using my iPad more and more.

  • Remember? More than. Still have a IIFX with it and the original Pro Tools hardware audio interface. Needs some TLC to boot these days though. We worked with Dave to provide a MidiTap studio driver for OMS.

But I've been waiting for a useable tablet longer. Since 2001 came out, on fact. I only had t touch one somebody brought into work and I was hooked.

  • I got audiobus and would up here b/c of the apps comparability section, then started lurking on forums and found the community pretty decent and a lot more knowledgeable than me. Now I am a regular lurker -- occasional poster.

  • I blame Sergio, he taught me the ways of heellectrification!

  • Sebastian invited me.

...Well, me and all the others who were on the Audiobus email list back in December 2013.

  • I think I was searching for a few nuggets of info about the new Electribe.

The quality of the posts and ensuing comments here keep me coming back for more. Hell, maybe I'll stop lurking so much and share some art/noise.
