Im so damn tempted... But early next year I might just buy retail as this thing will get backed for sure. By the time it goes retail it may even be better and once in the hands of people and reviews I might even go with the Nashville wooden edition. The linnstrument is also very tempting, and that damn octatrack... So much gear, so little time (and money)..
Must. Grow. Money.
it looks funny, but it looks like it has no bluetooth just usb.....thats a little sad......
$299 ain't bad. Aside from lacking bluetooth, this looks more promising than Jamstik as a string players' controller. Could also be fun for percussion.
I posted a question on the Kickstarter page. The amount of time they take to respond will be a factor in whether I decide to back.
That they snuck in a 12x6 grid mode (hello, ableton and... loopy) is pretty clever. I don't think I could buy this without holding it but it looks pretty rad. Great that it has speakers on board but it would be a bonus if it had a few internal sounds so you can play it in your living room with noting else. Speaking of, er, speakers, I wonder if it will take over from another connected audio device on iOS like the iConnects.
Here's the reply I got:
"Our pitch bend messages used in "slide" and "fretless" presets are 14-bit MIDI. "
Cool. That's the same as Linnstrument.
Yes, midi pitchbend is 14 bit standard. I've talked to them and they have a good handle on voice per channel polyphonic pitchbend and expression, it will all work out of the box with those apps that support it.
They're probably quite different, but I'm more interested in the Jamstik.
Let's see
Sounds great! I'll probably go for gig edition. Was mulling getting an Linnstrument but this might actually be a better fit for what I want to do. Of course 1/4 the price of Linnstrument doesn't hurt.
