New track with lots of apps, headphones recommended

Hey everybody, it's been a while since I completed a track and this one is all iOS. It started with an iMaschine beat and me annoyingly uploading to Soundcloud, downloading through Nlog and pasting... but by the end it had Audiobus! Novation's launchpad app was updated with "Open In" as well, which made it a hell of a lot easier to do towards the end. Besides an acoustic guitar through an iPad 3 mic and a cheap electric guitar through an iRig HD into an iPhone 5s, I used a plethora of apps to make loops, beats, etc. and then imported them into the launchpad app where I kept recording tracks live with my Launchpad S until I found right one. I then threw some effects on it in Garageband and put it through the Audio Mastering app.

    The Overall mix is a bit harsh and driven against the wall but ok.

    Thanks guys! Yeah that is the Launchpad app not having good mixing tools and maximizing everything on the recording. I tried to tame it with Audio Mastering but that is definitely not my skill.

    Agreed. I got an early Police vibe from the bass and drums as well. Sounds like an updated for the times version of one of their instrumentals. Great job!

    The mix drops off and starts bouncing a bit in volume around the last third, but then comes back strong for the finish ... Don't know if that was intentional or not.

    Thanks for sharing, makes me want to take a closer look at Launchpad now that you can use your own samples :)

    Thanks, everyone! I was playing with some filters for the last part to try something new and change it up. I don't think it translated very well, however. Kind of ruined the flow a little bit.

    Yeah, I like it coming from the Abelton workflow and having a physical Launchpad. I have tried other similar apps, but could not get them to work with the Launchpad like this does. Importing is kind of a pain, but a lot of iOS workflow stuff can be. I recommend the 7 dollar purchase or whatever it is.

    Thanks! Yeah, it started with a beat from the Halcyon Sky sound pack in iMaschine. That genre pack is all about "chill".
