Loopy HD multi-track into Auria.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to record a live performance in Loopy HD to a multi-track destination using Audiobus and could use some guidance!
Does anyone know if Auria is capable of capturing each Loopy output discretely in a multi-lane setup?
I did a search, but didn't find anything that confirmed this is possible/working using Auria.
Also, can Auria be synced to Loopy's MIDI clock?
If anyone has any experience of this setup (or similar with another DAW) and has any advice that is welcome too.
Cheers.

Loopy in Audiobus presents individual outs for every track. So you can set up multiple lnes one for each track. The only fiddly bit is you also need to set up a dummy lane for Loopy's main output to shut it up.
Steps:
1: open Auria and create a New Project with no tracks. Close it again.
2: open Audiobus. Create a lane for each Loopy output you want to use. Which Loopy tracks may take a little fiddling because they are not numbered in the Loopy panel.
To select individual tracks, click on the little blue i to the right. That will bring up thedetailed list.
3: add a fnal lane and put Loopy's Main in the input.
4: add Auria to each output slot, except the one from Loopy Main.
5: From Audiobus launch Loopy
6: from Audiobus launch Auria
7: have fun.
Thanks very much for the insight and super explanation.
It seems I might be able to sync them together too, although from what I understand Auria will have to be the master clock source as it will only sync to incoming MTC and not MIDI clock.
I hope the sync is reasonable and my iPad (Air 1) can take the pressure!
TY again for the help
I never got this to work. It was the exact use case for which I was most excited about multi-lane AB. No matter what I do, I get the same recording on all N tracks in auria—even though before recording it's obvious it sees the individual tracks based on the metering..
hmm, I don't think I ever made a separate track for the master out. Maybe that would solve my problem. I'm not trying to capture live—just trying to move 9-12 Loopy tracks into Auria at once.
There's a Loopy>Auria AB preset linked in this old thread. http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/4149/ab2-auria-and-multi-out-loopy
@syrupcore Cheers for the input! I actually searched out that thread already and it seemed slightly inconclusive as to whether or not this worked as I'd hoped.
fancy giving this a test? Although I imagine @dwarman tested this configuration under recording conditions.
Do tell me this works. Such a fine explanation from Mister @dwarman....
This is a bit different from @dwarman's approach, but it has worked for me...
Audiobus preset 'Loopy6trackauria': http://preset.audiob.us/9TqAEm88eezuMdE
@funjunkie27 Is that my loopy auria audiobus preset? If so, I do know it works for anyone who was asking. Or at least it did when I made it, I think I've heard that it still does on newer iOS versions, etc.
EDIT:
I looked at the thread and the 6 track preset is the one I posted. @iamspoon it should work for you.
I don't recall how I ended up with it @mrufino1. I thought I built it, but it may very well be yours. Yet another reason that notes and organization with saved states would be useful.
Either way I know it works to answer the original question!
Cheers for the input. I will try recording a session tomorrow and report my findings.
It seems I could also use IAA within Auria to get the same result (?), however that then becomes a discussion for a different forum I guess!
It does work, so I appreciate the share @mrufino1.
@iamspoon there are other forums? Really?
In case anyone was wondering, here is how things worked out.
Auria/Loopy via IAA is a bit of a non-starter presently. (crashes as soon as I add more than 1 output.)
However, the Audiobus route as described here works pretty well, although there are a couple of caveats.
The main one is that this setup seems limited to a maximum of 8 stereo outputs from Loopy to Auria.
Attempting to add an extra bus causes a crash everytime in Auria and often Loopy too.
The other minor issue is that Loopy will not MIDI sync to Auria's MIDI clock.
Weirdly, Auria seems to slave to Loopy's MIDI clock (at least in terms of start/stop messages) so that is sort of a workaround.
