Audio and Midi over USB ponder
So now that Midi over USB and soon Audio over USB will be here with supposedly low latency. I was pondering about a setup.
I was pondering about buying Mainstage 3, but instead of using the loopback in mainstage for live looping routing the audio to Loopy on my iPad. I then could route the audio from loopy through some effects via audiobus and then back into mainstage.
I have an FCB1010 pedal that I would hook to my macbook via the Akai EIE. I would assume I could map the pedals though USB to Midi to trigger loops on the iPad. I am assuming that any Midi device that is plugged into my macbook would be usable to control apps on my iPad.
It seems like it would be an awesome setup especially since having the iPad plugged into my macbook would charge it.

Yesterday I had a midi controller plugged into my Mac and through Abelton and had it playing both Alchemy on my phone and a VST in Abelton at the same time. There was little to no noticeable latency with MusicIO. As long as the latency is not too much with bidirectional audio, that sounds like a great idea!
