I can only speak for the Air 2, as that is what I have. Mini Retina 1 (Air 1) did not have the same problems, as it does not have the same processor afaik.
If you have something you want me to test, I'll be happy to as long as I have the Apps (I have a lot, though not all ;-)).
I think performance wise the main issue on the Air 2 was the scrollview bug that caused these problems in Auria, Gadget and others, as described in this thread: http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/7624/good-news-for-air2-folks/p1
Do you have Animoog? And, does page loading issue still occur in safari?
Understood @Peter321 - thanks. No need to do lots of testing - it helps to understand what you/we think the issue was - the scrollview problem. Appreciate the reply.
+1. Scrolling in Safari is a whiteout when multiple tabs are open. And page reloading. Have these been fixed too?
It looks like the Safari bug is still there
I do have Animoog, what's the problem there?
This appears to be very good news, but I can't help wondering if it's Gadget itself that is primarily causing these glitches ?
I'm not sure if this test (apart from being a CPU stress test) is typical of how people would use Gadget.
I'm finding this glitch on my Air, I loaded up a mixture of the synths (20 of) and varied the patterns playing (to make it more a s a track with lots going on - but not all at the same time) and yes, it did it. However, if I went into the edit mode whilst still showing the synth in the window, it wasn't happening.
Nonetheless, I am looking forward to 8.3 !
It's ridiculous that their own browser has issues on their latest iPad, and don't get me started about the iMac problems I had - problems reported by others nearly 6 months ago and still not fixed. Apple need to stop fannying around with watches and fix their ruddy existing products. The Apple 'it just works' mantra is starting to come across as a little disingenuous now.
^That's what I'd like to know.

Constant crashing because of the animation on the grid. Thanks for checking
@Peter321 do you have, by any chance, external equipment that worked well with iOS 7, stopped working on 8, and now works well again in iOS 8.3 ?
Ditto.
Better to deal with the devil you know...............
Glitches and crashes inside AB2 when playing thru the interface (not midi)
Nothing i've run into except for Gadget, thats been my goto app since I got it.
I've tried out Animoog and are not getting any problems so far.
I've set it up as input in AB2 with the speaker as output and a buffersize of 128, playing various pads with the animation visible.
Can you give a more specific setup that is causing problems in Pre 8.3?
Routing, which patch, etc.
I'll be happy to post my results.
Only bug I've found is that the AB shortcut menu does not work in Animoog. It's displayed but does not respond to touch.
Oops my post was aimed at @MusicInclusives' question about AB and other apps, must have been on page 1!
So, to restate that question @musikmachine :-)
"And a further question - does this imply better overall audio performance in 8.3 - does it help Audiobus for example? Or IAA?"
And, in the light of what you noted @Peter321 - I take it that the 128 buffer size in AB with Animoog still gives the x 2 LFO rate and screen scrolling rate for some patches - i.e. that that, being an Animoog bug we believe, is still present.
(128 = 2x, 256 = 1x, 512 = 1/2x, 1024 = 1/4 x )
You can easily check with a number of patches. My favorite for demonstrating it is the Carbonated Bass patch in the MINIMOOG Drew Neumann set.
Thanks Peter. The issue would be that it will crash with the default patch or any other patch while on the grid screen immediately and/or randomly when you start to play. I'm associating that this must mean that Apple has fixed the animation/audio prioritization issue Michael talked about in his loopy masterpiece video. If you can play it easily now, that is very good news.
@MusicInclusive I don't have the MINIMOOG set, can I test this with any of the default preset patches?
@AQ808 I've not experienced any crashes, but have only played a few minutes. Will test some more and report back.
I'll find one that breaks and let you know @Peter321
So what's the word on glitches now that gold 8.3 is out?
Works just as well as the beta, so good news for all.
