iPhone Apps

Hey,

Been a while since I have visited here, but I just want to know what some good iPhone apps are that a lot of people are using today. Anything from synth apps, drum machine apps, to studio tools like a midi sequencer, etc.

I used to have an iPad, but I traded it for some gear and figured I'd just buy a new slim iPad with lightning port later on. Of course I really miss the Korg apps too. I just am wondering what other great iOS apps will work on an iPhone. It seems mostly what I used was ipad exclusive, though I mostly used korg apps. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

  • General:
Nanostudio, Loopy, AudioShare, BeatMaker, MultiTrack DAW

    Synths/Instruments:
Thumbjam, Sunrizer XS, Animoog, Cassini, Sir Sampleton, Magellan Jr, SoundPrism Pro, Guitarism, NLog MIDI Synth, Addictive Micro, Bebot

    FX:
Jam Up, Aufx: all, Holderness Apps,

    Drums:
FunkBox, Elastic Drums, Beat-Machine, SeekBeats, DrumJam, Impaktor, Rock DM

  • Too bad the greatest of them all, Alchemy, is no more.

  • Two strong one's from Syrupcore's list. For live I really like Magellan Jr. Great sounds and very stable, and I've been using Multitrack DAW since it came out.

  • Thanks everyone good stuff. Also thanks syrupcore really good list.

Oh and I recognize you Tarekith. Really nice YouTube review you did of the new electribe. Can't wait to get it in the next few days.

  • I don't use my phone for music, sill really as it's faster than my iPad but too small and fiddly for serious work. I still keep copies of Triq traq, SeekBeats and Elastic Drums on there though for the occasional twiddle.

  • I guess context matters. I used it a hell of a lot more for music when I was bus commuting. NS is almost better on the phone. I mostly use it now as an effects box for hardware. And yeah, the occasional twiddle when out and about.

Yeah that makes sense I've kinda run into that issue when I would use my iPhone. I'll probably just be sticking with drums, FXs, MIDI on it as that's all I really need anyways

  • Has anyone else noticed that the patch randomizer on Magellan Jr seems to create a lot more interesting and usable patches than its big brother iPad version? Try them both and see for yourself.

More synths/instruments: Mitosynth, Zedsynth, CrystalsynthXT (patch player with editing), Unity synth (also a patch player, Crystal and Unity both allow you to create patches on iPad and import into iPhone), Arctic synth, Grainscience, PPG Mini mapper, Argon, Samplewiz, CMP iSymphonic, CMP Grande Piano, NeoSoul keys

Pixitracker, Sunvox. TNR-e, TNR-i, FL Studio Mobile/Musicstudio (pretty cool now that fx are routable, and FL has an onboard synth. Easy to put a track together and export all midi and wav stems)

The platform blows my mind with its available apps and power (this list, Tarekith's and syrupcore's are my arsenal but it can be like making a ship in a bottle, as someone once said here.)

  • How could I forget NanoLoop. If you like low bit stuff, NanoLoop is boss. Really great and powerful step sequencer.

+1 how could I forget the one app my son kept on his phone out of the hundreds that I recommended-

  • I would also recommend Sampletank, but it's expensive and takes up a lot of space... But it can cover a lot of needs. Still, not everyone likes IK.

No, I had not, but I will now have to sit down with Jr. Thanks for the heads-up coloobar.

  • Lotto Monkey Classic is a dubstep monster just waiting to be recorded. Anyone?

  • I would like to add - Caustic, Xynthesizer, Gyrosynth, Synthecaster, Modular and DXi - to this list of great suggestions

and I also like WerkBenchLE and Ricepad a lot but they don't have AB or IAA, just Audiocopy.

Recently on the Nanostudio forum, KiteJan transformed this spam post:

Everyone informed about grad classes admissions can certainly let you know in which engaging in graduate student classes just isn't seeing that uncomplicated seeing that which has a cutoff GPA or GRE report. Like a subject of actuality, many people really underestimate the significance on the graduate student admissions dissertation.
