  • Oh and Nanostudio 2 is on the way!

  • edited March 2015

Wow. And weird. I just cleared out 5 years worth of NS from my ipad. 9 gigs all carefully backed up. Decided it was time to give the old girl a fresh try etc.

Now do excuse me while I go and apply the CPR of happiness to @syrupcore.

EDIT: I take it, as this new bank is a sellfy thang it's paypal, right?

Huuu, these are news, where from?
Wait since....there is no number for ;-)

  • @JohnnyGoodyear 9 gigs! I have to clean it out occasionally too but I keep my /samples and /trgbanks folders in place. If you decide to load an old project for which you didn't explicitly create an NSP it could fail to load properly because it's looking for files in either of those folders.

Also, as you enter this new phase of NS life, don't forget that thread over on his forum with a boatload of patch banks. Lots of good stuff. You can't import them into a project (oh, ns2, come already) but you can start new projects with them.

And yes, NS2 is in active development but purposefully little news about a release date–very much a "it's done when it's done" sort of affair. I want it right now but I can appreciate that good things take time. My boss does not. 2am, back to work!

  • @syrupcore Yeah, nine. Bazookered me too after bothering to look in 'Usage' when 125 of this putative 128 was full. But then NS was what I brung to dance with on my first iPad. NS2 provokes all my Beckett: Can't wait. Must wait. Will wait. Which is one of the other reasons I am going back to the old girl again; limbering up etc.

  • Oh, I've definitely been in the 9gigs+ situation with NS. Another thing to note about NS is when you do a 'save as' it duplicates your entire project - including any samples you've created. So, if you're like me and save 'my-tune-v1', ..., 'my-tune-v6', ..., 'my-tune-v13' you end up with 13 complete copies of your project. If the project doesn't use samples (or only tiny ones), no big deal but if you have a few bigger samples in there it'll add up quickly.

There have been active discussions on how to balance 'it just works', 'easy to back up' and 'one copy of the project samples to save space please'. All are important. I don't know if he's found a solution for NS2 but I know it's something he's worked/working on.

  • Doug did a nice run through of these. Some very nice stuff @Panthemusicalgoat.
