Can you use IPHONE & IPAD as 2 seperate instruments/channels in CUBASIS with Bluetooth?

Does secret base BlueTooth to Midi allow that?

Example.

Use IPHONE with say Imashine or Figure.

On Ipad with Audiobus run Cubasis in output with say Nave as the input.

Can you have 2 different simultaneous live apps as 2 separate live channels in Cubasis?

I hope that is clear. I attempted to break it down to simplest terms.

If Bluetooth to Midi App does NOT allow that, what does?

  • Not exactly what you asked, but I know Auria can sync to another iPad running Auria for more tracks, so I would think it is possible. I just don't have Cubasis to test.

    I appreciate you help nonetheless

  • MIDI, yes. Audio, no, you'll need WiFi (preferably dedicated ad-hoc network) to do that.

  • Hi -- Apollo MIDI over Bluetooth can stream multiple MIDI channels (that's pretty standard for any MIDI connection). You could send audio from one device to another with Apollo Remote Recorder and Apollo Sound Injector -- but only a single stream, so if it's more instruments, it would get mixed together by Audiobus.

If your iPad can handle it -- it might be best to just use the iPhone as a MIDI controller, and run all the audio generating apps on the iPad (there's audio latency over WiFi -- the MIDI stream is much less sensitive to this).

  • Don't think that either Figure or iMaschine have midi.....

  • Ahhh -- you're right. So if it's an audio-only app like Figure, you could stream audio using ARR and ASI. This should actually work fairly well, as Figure would be looping something, and it's less sensitive to "live playing," as compared to trying to tap out a piano line. Then, on the iPad, streamed audio goes in to Cubasis, and you can do whatever else you want there.

Just tried this -- Apollo Sound Injector can be installed as an IAA, and I was able to stream Figure from my iPhone (using Audiobus and Apollo Remote Recorder), and it went into Cubasis on my iPad without a hitch.

  • This thread is helpin' a brotha out today.
    Gracias

Do you guys have a tutorial or manual for this kind of stuff?

I appreciate it. I bought the APP but yet to dedicate the time to work this out.

    Thanks again.
