BTW, retention/delay issues are why I haven't introduced Figure to him ... yet. Mustn't distract the flighty little critter with more options when he's actually on a roll with Launchpad.

@eustressor yeah, at the end of (every) day it's probably more about being around and paying attention than anything else.

And then there's always iKaosillator. Flashing lights. Pretty etc.

    :)

  • @JohnnyGoodyear funny, that was my first impression of Figure - iKaosillator without the Kaos.

  • Here's one of my Figure/Loopy only chill tracks-

  • Thanks for sharing @Thomas, that sounds good. Did you use any other effects with it, like for mixing or mastering, or is it an as is Figure track? Just wondering, Thanks

  • I took Figure mixes, Audioshared them into Loopy and performed(i.e. mixed an arrangement/performance) into Beatmaker2 for mix down to 2 track stereo. No effects or mastering on this one IIRC.

  • But I'm learning to slowly let go. Lighten up. 13 is such a crazy age. What he needs now, and what this thread and member feedback has helped me realize, is as much affirmation and support as possible for his creative interests. I mean, I sure don't want him to start following in my teenage footsteps (shudder). So, following our The Talk and Pizza last night, this morning my The Boy cheerfully bounded down the steps to play three versions of the same Launchpad song he'd just created for me to help him select the best one. Since I was working, my initial response was the all-too-frequent "not now, kid" brush off, but then I thought about this thread and said, "wait, just give me 5 and I'll be right there, buddy." I then dutifully listened to all three and shared my vote and discussed it with him, then reminded him how proud I am that he's so creative.

This nearly brought a tear to my eye. Lovely. I am finding it hard to swallow though, that there are iPad music nerds out there who actually have kids and families and jobs, beautiful houses and marriages? I am often under the wrong impression that musicians and techies are all like me....reclusive, tortured, dissillusioned after many bad choices.....I am 43 years old and have none of those things.

Well I kind of have a part time job....that I love....teaching music 😊. I still get excited when I get a new app or piece of kit though....and that one day I might just use it in on stage in front of an audience.... which could lead to more work or even a fella!!!! So there is that.....🙂

  • Does anyone know how to transfer Figure projects from one iDevice to another? Or to back them up to an external thumb drive? Same goes for Blocs Wave and Groovebox although there a 'workaround' would be to manually export project files of each track as stems I guess.
I want to give one of my iPads to my mom but wouldn't want to loose those projects.
