Photophore update just out!
Photophore 1.0.2
New Features and Performance Boost!
Since Photophore's launch in December, we've had a lot of requests for a wider variety of waveshapes. This update adds 6 new waveshapes, giving users a wide range of new timbres to use when designing patches. We've also included a new glide feature, which provides smooth portamento between notes when in monophonic mode. The combination of the glide feature with Photophore’s flock synthesis algorithm, which uses flocks of up to 100 oscillators per voice, is especially useful for crafting swarming synth leads and roaring bass sounds.
In addition, a selection of new patches is included across all categories to showcase these new features. Photophore’s synthesis engine has also been optimized to reduce CPU usage with no loss of audio quality. Users will see a performance improvement of up to 15%, allowing for better multitasking and lower latency when using Audiobus or Inter-App Audio. This improvement will be especially noticeable on 32-bit iPads.

Downloading now and looking forward to the new patches and features, this synth just sounds really good already !
Good first impression. The new wave shapes are great.
I had a brief play earlier, nice update. I really like this synth and the way it's trying to be an original ipad synth, not just an emulation of a piece of hardware.
Nice sounds update, wish they'd done something about the silly small keyboard though.
Yeah, the keyboard is a little something or other, wish they would figure out a pop-out version or similar. Works well with the micro-key and I find it to be most fun/playable by opening patterns in Step-Poly-Arp and then going back to Photophore and tweaking it as the sequence runs (especially slow sequences)....interesting results in the ambient area etc.
@johnny i do the same thing with steppolyarp. midisequencer does chords now, which is really cool for auditioning sounds also.
I got an ApPriceDrop alert that midiSequencer is on sale at $2.99 USD
It's never gone this low.....just saying.
Ya, because the heavy weight is coming!
Really like this synth - feel like it's a little under-appreciated. It doesn't have a huge wealth of presets, which is usually an issue for me, but I found it pretty easy to tweak and save your own, and you can get nice warm sounds out of it.
