I believe that's pretty much the way everyone recorded at one time.
Back in the 50's when I was a teddy boy.
I've got all that MIDI stuff in Logic, and I never finish anything. I like the limitations of the iPad, sometimes, as it forces me to get on with it. The big thing I miss in GarageBand though is any kind of mixing or automation, so I'm looking forward to that in Auria.
well - auria is not looping my 909 kicks. it keeps cutting the first one short. anyone else have that? it is just a one bar loop of 4 kicks but it muffles the first one even if i cut it to beat 3 and 4. i could record it for 200+ bars - but would like not to and just loop it.
it loops perfectly in audioshare.
Do you have to pay an IAP to be able to use your own app effects such as Turnado? It says 'third party plugin support via in-app purchase' - if so how much does this cost?
they will show up as native fx if you have have them as apps already. but its only turnado and wow so far. i would really like to try and program thesys in auria - with a microscope but why not?
Turnado and wow show up as plugins native to auria if you own the standalone versions.
And @monzo, I totally agree, the limitations help me finish projects as well.
As for effects on recordings, plenty of recordings well past the 50's where you open the multitrack, pull up faders, and it's darn close to the record. Listen to the multitracks of the def leppard songs that are out there. Add a little reverb to the rock of ages tracks and there's the record. Bohemian rhapsody too. Nirvana wasn't far off, not was doobie brothers. It's probably true of many recordings now too (excluding styles in which the purpose is documenting the live performance, such as classical and some jazz recordings, where that's always been true), but I don't have access to those multitracks.
Some great vids up on the fabfilter site, give you an idea of how they'll perform in auria.

Great thanks for the confirmation - Turnado is my main effect so that'll be useful.
Yeah I've got the 8-track to that somewhere - amazing how simple it is. I seem to remember most of the tracks were taken up by drums, and Brian May only had two for his guitar.
Thanks!
I think it's a no-brainer for Auria. Also they've fixed the price so when the new one comes out the existing version shouldn't suddenly drop in price (unless they have an introductory offer), which is nice. I don't think I'll need the Pro version anyway.
Bohemian Rhapsody is 24 tracks. There are quite a few tracks in it that have multiple things on them. Wherever there was free space. I know bass had 3 tracks- 2 DI and an amp I think.
Not a Queen fan (respect, but don't admire), but will not forget the DJ putting that tune on Capital Radio one afternoon for the first time and then putting it on again right afterwards. Small commercially-oriented minds were blown.
Check out the multitrack though, it's mind blowing. I love all of those multis that are floating around, really great as a learning tool.
24 tracks after a whole lot of bouncing!
Multitracks sound cool. Where do you get them?
Just do a search in a search engine, you'll find them. I don't want to break any policies here. But they've been around a while and are not hard to find. It's been a long time since I got them anyway, I don't even know where to find them to be honest. I haven't accessed any files that way in a long time.
