Using Effectrix in Cubasis

Thanks to the advice in another thread, I picked up Effectrix. Cool presets. Now I'm trying to get Cubasis to work with it. I have it set up as an IAA send efect but no dice. I found this in the manual:

"When used as a Send Effect, Cubasis needs a workaround (hopefully fixed soon): Cubasis needs a “fake” IAA-instrument track for the Send Effect to work, so on a spare track, load up any virtual instrument, then Effectrix will work as a Send Effect."

I'm not sure how this works. I created a IAA instrument track and nothing. I'm sure there's more to it than what the manual explains.
