Auria question
Just a quickie - why does Auria lose the sound from an audio recording when you change the input instrument? I had the first half filled with an iSEM sequence, then went to add some iMPC Pro but it then lost the iSEM audio. Doesn't seem to make sense - it's not midi data so why does it tie each track to only one instrument?
Comments
buggy! Auria.
Is it a bug? I'm a new user so thought it might be something I'm doing wrong. Hope so, I like to keep track numbers down by moving audio blocks around and filling blank space. If not that's a deal breaker for me.
I find similar situation using Auria IAA to record iSem, PPG. It is just not right with ios 8.3
Your choice is only wait for Auria Pro. This is a future plan of Auria. One man developer in Auria we trust! How can I say!
Similarly, I will never buy Moog Filtatron, Simply I don't know when is the time for thier future upadte? Scared potential users such like I am!
What happens to the recorded audio in the timeline?
Also, what's the reason for keeping track numbers down? The number of tracks (without FX) has a minimal impact on performance.
@monzo...are you going into Auria with AB, IAA, or directly in from the source? I would think that if you're using AB, it wouldn't be a problem.
Did you close iSEM (as in kill it, not just close it in auria) before switching to impc? I seem to remember that you need to do that with IAA. I could be wrong, but that sounds familiar.
I tried to recreate this problem just to see for myself if the lost audio file is stored inside Auria. First track via AB iSEM then Argon, second via IAA iSEM then Thumbjam - all the audio is there, I couldn't recreate it.
Thanks for the replies - audio was recorded via IAA via the FX section then the input app closed. This worked fine when I just had iSEM on there, but when I added the iMPC Pro audio and closed that, all audio was silent. Wave was still there, even the level bar showed audio activity, but no sound was coming out.
I guess I'm used to older devices with low resources, but I also like keeping track numbers down just to keep it all looking tidy.
It's probably user error, I haven't had much time to learn it since buying the app so I should probably knuckle down and go through some tutorials.
I try to show you all that the Auria has the sound after recording PPG shown on the picture. It has orange without the the white fluctuation lines. It is quite buggy! iSem recording has similar situation. I did not try others with IAA. Perhaps Auria needs some fix now! I do not want to contact Auria! It is not a hurry for them! Why should I? In this regard, one can see that Cubasis is still a good choice! At least, it is very stable at the moment through IAA.
My device ios 8.3 iPad Air 1
@Kaikoo: Have you tried posting on the Auria Forum?
http://auriaapp.com/forum
They're a friendly and helpful crowd and Rim (Auria's developer) is usually very quick to respond, where necessary.
Not sure what's happening wrongly for the folks here, but I just recorded iSEM and Mitosynth (I don't have iMPC or PPG) using IAA via the FX insert on two tracks without any issues.
Perhaps it's an 8.3 issue. I'm using 7.1.2. It's certainly not an intrinsic Auria issue... Cubasis has proven far less stable with IAA. (And I use Cubasis too on a regular basis - love them both).
Oh - and I didn't close iSEM either - left it open when I also switched to Mitosynth on the 2nd track.
I even recorded iSEM first, then switched to Mitosynth on the same track - (as I read the OP and followup again it seemed maybe that's what was also being done along the way to reduce track count). Still works:
I knew you are constantly urge Cubasis updating some issues.
Auria issue is after ios8.3 update! not big deal for me! Just wait Auria Pro out!
Alright, let me add a picture too
Audio is visible as well as audible
I'm on iOS 8.3 iPad 4
Air1/8.3
iSem via AB into Auria + Audiopaste of iMPC loop (horribly clipped; my own fault onto same track:
EDIT: And yeah, it works fine.
What's up @JohnnyGoodYear
Ye, Ye, Ye! Long time no see you today!
Show me the iSem IAA route , not the audiobus route! I know AB works!
Are you putting 2 different apps on one track?
Yes He is! for showing.
@monzo @kaikoo
Perhaps you could each walk us through step-by-step what you are doing since 3 of us are not able to replicate the problems you are having. Maybe we could spot what you might be doing differently and offer some specific input.
@MusicInclusive
my problem mainly the graph area has the sound, No white line fluctuation! iSem, PPG, even Cube Synth by using IAA recording! other synth should follow the same situation!
Hmmm. @Kaikoo. Maybe the levels are low. Did you try pinch and zoom vertically to see the track expanded - perhaps it's just really quiet.
But, again, what would help is if you went through step by step with some screen shots at each step to show us what you are doing. Then we might be able to see more clearly. If you've never taken a screenshot on iOS before, it's easy: just briefly press the home and power buttons simultaneously. The screen will flash, and the current view will be saved to the Photos folder. You can do that for each stem and then upload them here via the "Attach a file" mechanism.
Good evening to you Mister @Kaikoo! I trust you are well.
I NEVER use IAA with Auria (or almost anything). Largely through habit, and also because the Insert list in Auria is NOT alphabetized and having too many apps, it can take an age to scroll about and find the one you're after.
Lame? Yes
BUT I did just go through the exercise utilizing IAA to record iSem in Auria (just for you -and Mister @monzo and it worked perfectly on its own AND adding the iMPC paste into the same track....
Problem Solved!
I begin with a new song, the white line shows up with iSem, Nave now!
Maybe the old track is not good after the update to ios 8.3
Thks guys!
@JohnnyGoodYear, good to hear and learn from your habit!
Thanks for the feedback - I followed Kaikoo's advice and created a new song. This time I had no issues at all using either IAA or AB.
Hmmm....just opened the previous project and all the audio was muted again. Unplugged, and plugged in the earphones and the sound came back. Wondering if this is a hardware issue as AB was doing this a few days ago.
Late to the party, but I had the same problem once. No matter what, via AB, every time I tried to record (can't remember exactly what, but it wasn't iSEM), I got the same strange orange Track of Silence.
Reboot settled it and it hasn't happened again. FWIW.
