please suggest a digitally sounding synth
looking for an aggressive sounding synth - many usefull presets would be a bonus. i like stuff like The Prodigy for its aggressive bass sounds.
nave and microtera came up first, any other contenders?
Comments
FM4.
Was gonna suggest Nave. Arctic Keys Pro might work too - but I don't have that one.
Z3ta
Totally z3ta.. I love dirty bass, and z3ta is THE one. You can spend longer in the other apps and spend less on other apps.. But has the most varied and most versatile range of dutty bass (in my opinion .. before I get bashed!)
TF7 Synth
+1 for TF7. Also, Tera, and Phase84
Sunrizer is IMHO one of the most aggressive sounding synths on the iPad. Lots of wonderful preset available and the price is certainly right.
Thor
Laplace and PPG Wavegenerator first come to mind. Mega digital, both of them.
Dirty bass? Phawuo, for around $5!
+1 to FM4... great mean synth.

Addictive synth—seems to only do harsh.
Tasty virus style digital aggression, z3ta (virus waveforms are available for this free all over) arctic pro synth, definitely addictive and the rest of virsyn iOS synths. I realize the thread so far are all my favorites
Lap lace is so "airy", though.
nice suggestions, which one got the most presets?
You might want to check out this old thread too: http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/3760/mean-nasty-dark-and-dirty
Laplace and FM4 sound great but the fact that they are not state-saving is a real bummer.
I think Z3ta has the most presets.
MidiTTS - type the word 'digital' in, and use the K2 voice.
+1 definitely, it ships with a ton, plus there's years of great free stuff on the interwebs...easy to carry 2500+
I've actually been getting some quite nice gritty FM-type stuff out of Chiang Mai in Gadget recently...
To my knowledge it's got 2 sound generating oscillators and each one has a "harmonic" oscillator that can modulate the wave to produce FM-esque results.
Nothing like as fully featured as Nave and the FM synths. But quite nice and interesting none the less. With the massive bonus that it's all as midi in Gadget.
Cyclop
Ha! You now have your answer:

Cyclop sounds like a good choice, from the app info:
"Cyclop is a monophonic syntheziser. It does one thing very well; delivering cutting edge digital madness at the low end of the frequency spectrum"
Which I definitely agree with.
