  • Is there any difference between the pro version and the 12 (besides the price?)

Think your limited to is it 12 objects, but not 100% sure.

  • Just grabbed, the 12 only has 12 modules useable at once.

I tried this a while back and Lemur. I always found this a little tricky to setup. And the look is nowhere near as cool as Lemur. Will try it out later.

  • Thanks for clarifying...I have some experience with a custom Midi Designer version for a Casio synth (XW series) and found it quite heavy app for midi....but since it's free I can't complain!

Yep, each page is limited to 12 controls, but you have many pages to tap the tabs to bring them up, so it's not as big an issue. I'm still trying to figure it all out though.

    $99.99
You guys may not know this, but the price is so the dev can keep the app alive, but to encourage people to buy the pro version. Why it is free all of the sudden doesn't make sense now.

Probably due to the fact that the developer was able to parlay the app's functionality and impressiveness to garner the attention of some other industry leading hardware companies to design their IOS product line and integration.

NEW COMPREHENSIVE USER MANUAL FOR MIDI DESIGNER

Hi all, thanks for the kind words and feedback. The full story is about our new manual, and the price drop in 12 is to give new users a free way to appreciate it, and to celebrate the manual and the effort it required. Here's the latest article on this change:

    http://www.musicappblog.com/midi-designer-update-4/

About 12: it's limited to 12 controls, but:
    1) they can be XY pads, so that's 24 parameters, if you want
    2) decorative controls -- panels and shapes (lines) -- don't count towards the limit

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Thank you,

    Dan

  • Can an XY pad be setup to send note values like a kaossilator?
    With different scales?
    That would be awesome.

  • That's a big deal. Congrats.

Great call on Dokuwiki. Hopefully you can get some help maintaining it! It looks/reads great on my phone (as opposed to so many PDF manuals).

Don't think so. But TC Data does this like a treat.
