Is z3ta+ iPad worth it?

I read a couple of reviews on the app store that gave me some pause. To the people who have the latest version of z3ta, does it really crash on exporting presets or in any other way? I love the pc version, but I'm on the fence about getting it for the iPad after hearing some not so good things about it. :) Thank you guys in advance.

  • Can only comment for myself. Am by no means a power user and (your central question, I know) don't export presets, but have had no problems with this synth (air1/8.3)

  • Yes - absolutely. Great synth. Do a search here in the forums - there have been about 3 threads recently on Z3TA+ - in a couple of which I showed some patch development. Very flexible. Very nice to use the Muz3um patches with from the desktop (freely available) set, as well as the waves from adventure kid to create new patches from.

I have _ just now _ exported a new patch from the latest version without issue. No crash.

  • Nice! Welp, it's time I parted with $20. :P

Aw damn. Well after playing around and creating a couple of presets, I tried to export them. It crashed on me when I pressed the "share" button. What iPad system are you running MusicInclusive?

  • There's other ways to get your presets out of Z3ta+ besides the export function. Save your preset, and then you can copy/paste them elsewhere using iFunbox. They will be located in the user presets folder area, not in the iTunes file sharing folder. It's buried a bit deep in the app's folder matrix, and may not be browsable if you're on iOS 8.3.

  • iPad mini, mini Retina, and 3's iOS 7.1.2

And what @Coloobar said as an alternative.

  • And for waves:

  • iFunBox! Doy, of course, lol. xD I use that all the time to get drum samples into Nanostudio. Thanks guys.

  • Z3TA in my opinion is truly an awesome synth for playing live. I use I at our church worship band, for lush analog string sounds, pads and it really sounds even more amazing coming out thru the Beringher UCA222 soundcard. Its connected thru a DI and when everyone hears the sonic power coming out thru the mains, it amazed the band that its all coming out of a tablet!
I even bypass all the sounds of the Motif MOXF the church has and only use it for controller for Zeta.
    So worth every penny!
