Tin Pan Rhythm, Pre Release Demo and Tutorial for iPad, IT DOES HAVE AUDIOBUS

Here is a in depth look at the new Tin Pan Rhythm app, for me this is one of the best songwriting apps I have used.

  • Looks interesting. It reminds me of chordbot but more modern UI.
What I really wish it had Is real time chord recognition like the type that Midiband app has. So the virtual band plays back according to the chords I play on my controller keyboard.

I really like the sounds in this, and how simple it is changing octaves and styles on the fly.

With just 8 chord slots to work with, it seems very limited though, unless I missed something and there's a song mode with chorus, verse, bridge etc...but that's the price for simplicity I guess.

Still, it's on my list of apps-to-look-out-for now...

  • I am stupid sometimes, the dev just told that this version I have here has Audiobus already, and it does, so there's a plus straight away.....duh, sorry guys

  • Pretty cool!
I still wish he can develop It to do actual real time chord recognition like Midiband. I hope its in the plans.

  • I can tell you that they have a lot of stuff planned, some very cool stuff

  • Thanks Sir Doug. Really does look brilliant. They must figure out saving, even if via snapshots or something similar. And then sometime later saving with a form of automation to allow you to keep and/or change previous mixes.

For all of that, I will buy it when it comes out (presuming it's fairly priced).

Add 'saving' and I will also sell my shares in Session Band. Toast.

  • Saving is on their list and chaining and midi and extra soundpacks, honestly these guys are on the ball

  • And I think you will all be very happy with the base price too

  • Happy to take your word for it boss....looking forward to the release and thanks for your efforts. Any guess on when it will hit the market?

  • Sounds good Doug!
Please tell them to work also on realtime auto chord recognition with a
Separate Chord track...and it will get a huge base of users that have been asking for a portable auto accompaniment One Man Band system. I hope this comes true. Many folks will rather use their iPads for this instead of buying a 2,000 $dollar arranger keyboard and deal with the added weight.

@Musikman4Christ good thought. I was also wondering about the transposing change. Happens a little clumsily in the vid (no knock on your Mister Woods), would be nice if that had an 'end of the bar' trip etc.

Edit: Hmmm. Never realized the font exploded into "Heading 1" if you put a hashtag in there first...

  • There is another thread here started by Gil who is the dev, in that he says May for release and he is looking for testers, check out the thread
