iPad and Samson Meteor usb microphone mutes iPad audio output

I don't think this is strictly an audiobus issue but I know there are smart people here, so I'll ask. I have an iPad Air 2 and a Samson Meteor usb microphone. Seems to me that I should be able to connect the mike to the iPad using the camera connection kit and everything would work. However, once I connect the mike, my iPad stops producing output sounds. Loopy and Cubasis will record from the mike but won't produce sound during recording or play back. Things return to normal if I unplug the mike. I've come to the conclusion that I prefer the sound of my guitar amp to any of the iOS amp sims I own so I'd like to be able to record the output of my amp. Do I have a defective microphone or is there some setting I need to set? I select the System Audio Input as the Audiobus input and Loopy or Cubasis as the output.

  • hi there, I have the same mic and it works really well with the iPad through the CCK. Just make sure you use the mic's own headphone jack.

I hope this helps and makes sense.
