    Is this a dirty joke I don't understand? ^^

    Chum = shark bait.

Or @JohnnyGoodyear believes @benkamen is a buddy who's just fallen overboard. You never know for sure with that guy ... ;)

No. Chum is the name for the bloody slurry they tip into the water to attract sharks etc. I suppose Chum in the water might have also been heard said by some posh Englishman in the early morning of 15 April 1912, but not in any way I can make app-relevant right now.

  • Right 'O Guv'nor. He doesn'ts speaks London Cockney, he doesn'ts........ It's nots his faults, it's nots.... Squire Goodyear...... Buts, put him in the right direction, & he'll speaks it perfectly, he wills......... Apples n Pears, Rosie Lea....... My olds a dustbin an, core blimey...ect....... Lol......

I think we need a poll: Do we want the Ben-Man spending his waking hours on this fine puppy or, you know, The Big Dog?

The big dog is actually a puppy. The old dog needs a bath

  • Hello, first post here. While trying to avoid suggestions that would encourage "second system syndrome", I had a feature request, outside the basic operation of the original app: for a next step in an app like this, it would be great to have a simple way to record and loop the chord changes you do, to build a little loop. Nothing heavy like an awkward, feature laden step sequencer monstrosity, but like a guitar looper pedal with a record button that just records the midi notes you make, and you perform the chord changes, and hit the record button again to set the loop and play it back over and over. Could be just a record button, and a play/stop button. Hitting record again while playing could let you punch in some replacement chords, and hitting record while stopped could just erase the loop and start recording a new one.

Other than that idea, having the keyboard on the right be able to have more/different notes than the chord would be great, while still having it automatically follow the chord changes. Last minor idea, is that it would be handy to mark the root note in the keyboard in some minimal way, so you can play it with more certainty, and play specific parts easier.

Thanks, Olympia Noise co., for asking for feedback; it's a simple, attractive, and musically handy app.

I'd love the drum sequencer to be able to send midi to Patterning!

Welcome Processaurus. I'd love to see a little step based chord sequencer like ChordBot's built in. Not so much looking to add a full on song sequencer to Chordion but rather a little shelf upon which to place ideas. And perhaps play with A/B/C sections.

  • I thought it was really good already.

    This should be awesome!

  • A deeper chord library like chordpolypad or suggester would be a nice enhancement to this already amazing app

    1. Link
    2. Chord sequencer
    3. Expanded arpeggiator
    4. Midi out for the drum machine
    5. Power chords as an option in the chord library.

    But especially Link...

Most of those features could work as paid upgrades too. Any word on an update? :D

Ableton link. Because every app needs it now. Specially if there's Arps involved....

EDIT:- Whoops. Didnt realize this was a necro'd thread. Nevermind :)

  • Here's a question: Generally, if you own Chordion now, is 2.0 a free update? I haven't been an appaholic long enough to see a full round-number update....

  • I have a few. More control over the note range and intervals of the keyboard. Better aftertouch and mod control on the pads and keyboard, letting us adjust x and y ala thumb jam. Vibrato control would be nice. More selections for the pad scales. Control over the number of chord voices. Expand the pad control with more layouts, perhaps expanded for pro. Great app, look forward to v2

  • I own v 1 and will happily pay up for v 2. Can't wait.

  • AU compatibility! Imagine opening this as a window in AUM, and controlling different synths with chords.
Basic midi looper would be amazing!

    That is all for now

V1 is my favourite iPad midi controller/keyboard to play other apps... BY FAR (it suits my workflow way better than Soudprism which is already very nice for example)...

So I only hope that V2 will be as good...

For me, no real request, but : keep it slick and simple (currently it's what makes it stand out) and improve the way to share or obtain new chords sets... And I will be more than happy to pay for a V2 !

  • i would pay, too

  • Midi in.
    Midi program change.
Load/save chords progression shown on the left screen (different colors) like this you would see the chaining chords live, but you could also play them, double time or some other chords in full chords mode, or in arpegio mode, that you could change on the fly.
These presets of chords progression with or without arpegios could be recalled thru program change also.
    :)

  • How about?... Drum roll..... iPhone support! Yay!

I was born a left handed. Those times it was looked at as a bad thing, so I was "re-educated" (left hand behind body, all that shit). Result: barren for writing I now use both hands almost the same way. It has helped me a lot, you cannot figure how much ;)

PS: this is maybe the only instance I can cite for good coming from evil

@benkamen I'm not sure if this has been requested already (sorry in case): a channel for the drum part would be nice, IMO

  • Ha, funny this thread is awake. Uh, yea, I've been so busy keeping up with Patterning stuff that this is still in early development. Definitely a new app, from the ground up, and not a free upgrade...

Thanks for the suggestions... I am listening.... but I'm going to try to avoid making specific promises at this point. :)

All right, people, move along. Nothing to see here....

Blimey! A whole country did that? What a country. Well, I don’t know about the tree.

This was very common in the US through the 50s. As a result, a friend's father developed both a devastating right and left hook. Golden Gloves and heavyweight prizefighter.

Yep, whole country imposed that on kids...me too, it thought me how to write backwards (mirror image) with my left hand.

...you seem to be the only one that didn't understand the question lol...let me break it down for you...in which country did you grow up, that does this shit?...
    Kind of simple isn't it?
