Anything similar to Samplr for desktop?
Okay obviously the touchscreen makes it unique, but can anyone recommend good sample manipulation tools for desktop? I would love to get all that Samplr does fully integrated into Live and Logic Pro.

Reaktor and ensembles are probably your best bet..
Frame and Loupe from reaktor tips:

Look through the user library and there's lots of creative sampling ensembles for reaktor
You might try googling around of "Granular Synthesis" and see if there's something out there that suits you. There are lots. I just found this http://logic-pro-expert.com/logic-pro-blog/2013/12/02/the-mangle-granular-synth-plugin-au.html#.VUAcQM5LGFI via those search terms. Never tried it but looks pretty nice. Definitely, part of the magic with Samplr vs other granular synthesis is multi-touch and the ability to change parameters directly on the playing surface.
http://www.partikkelaudio.com looks pretty powerful. And free!
guess there really isn't anything that feels like Samplr, but some fresh apps you might be interested in are

thanks syrupcore the mangle looks dope, but for petes sake why didn't he call it 'The Mangler' instead of the mangle?
Thanks for the replies. Seems like most desktop sample manipulators are either slicers or granular.
Last night I was in the Samplr zone, completely locked into the app. It's amazing the stuff you can do. Wish there was a desktop equivalent.
Got 'The Mangle' it's really great, pre full release, but not that much missing just a lack of presets, only a few included, more of which I believe will be added in the next release, for the price it's excellent value, it gives you 8 slots to load samples, map them, manipulate them with envelopes, lfo's, sequencers etc. using granular synthesis. U&I MetaSynth is excellent as well but WOW, it's DEEP, spectral synthesis. Of the two Mangler is more hands on 'instant' fun, MetaSynth is for the inner NERD when you want to tweak everything.

Laptop on stage, yuck!

Scary Years with Notebook on Stage, years of suffer & pain!

Samplr is so unique and great
Regarding granular: Granite (New Sonic Arts) is fun. Padshop Pro is good too.
Twisted Tools Reaktor ensembles ... I'm partial to their S-Layer and Ultraloop (nothing on iOS quite like these) ... most of their products do some sort of combination of slicing, granulizing and looping.
But these require the full version of Reaktor, so you're forced to buy multiple non-cheap products if you don't have Reaktor.
In Live, you'd want to look at Max for Live stuff. I'm thinking of M4L instruments by people like K-Devices and Hyakken.
