On-screen volume control

Just wondering if anyone knows an app, or setting that'll allow on-screen volume control on an ipad (Air 2 iOS8) for music apps and general audio volume.
I've got gestures turned off by default as some apps don't seem to like it, and the bottom control panel volume only seems to affect iTunes so it'd be good to have an onscreen alternative, or to get the control panel to work with music apps. Some apps have their own volume controls so they're fine, some don't though or they're in an awkward place which distracts me from what I'm doing.
Reason for asking is I'm thinking of getting the Griifin Survivor case and there's quite a bit of feedback regarding the audio button cover not aligning correctly. If this is the case it'd be useful to know there's an alternative to using the side buttons.

Not that I've used it much, but the built-in control panel volume slider seems to work for all apps on my Air 2.
