I may stop using audiobus
Ever since I've started using the iPad for making music,I've had really bad neck pains from looking down all the time.its gotten so bad that have to aspirin all the time..when using a computer you look straight forward, making your back and neck straight.kind of a bummer mostly cause there are so many awesome apps out there with so many more to come..

I use an iKlip stand from ik multimedia a lot of the time. It works great.
my gf uses a bookholder to place her ipad mini in to watch her youtube vids on her desk. cost $10
maybe that might help
That is a bummer.
What's the software that lets you use your
Monitor and ipad together?
Edit
Think its called air display but not sure if it will work the way you'll need it to
It's in the App Store
You could use AirPlay, but you would still have to look down at the iPad to navigate. I use a music stand for mine fairly often but then you have to reach up to navigate.
That's why the recliner is the ultimate ipad accessory
Screen mirroring via HDMI out to a TV works well, as does AirPlay - you still need to look down from time to time but would be good enough for the less-precision-needed apps. And of course a lot of the guitar-centric apps (guitarism, LiveGuitar, ThumbJam) can mostly be played without looking at the screen.
@Sexygirl I get the neck pains too. I haven't found much of an alternative either.
Grow a beer belly
My vision gets really blurry after a while.
i really can't say that i always made my back and neck straight when using a computer.More of the opposite.I feel more comfortable with using the ipad now.It allows me much more variation or different positions instead of just sitting at my desk.
I would like to try one of those massage beds where there's a hole for your face and then you could place the ipad onto a little table below for a perfect posture !
Cut a hole in your mattress and put a bass amp underneath.
The hole is for your face?
@mgmg4871 lol too funny....
On a serious note you can stand your ipad vertically with various cases etc.....this is how my ipad is now as I type and I am not looking down too much and my neck is pretty straight.
Breaking News....SHOCK...HORROR...PROBE..Apple to release new device..After several million users of Audiobus complain of neck and back pain..Apple leaked plans of their new......iPadoggles.....special VR styles glasses.....ha if only....I brought a little stand for 8 GB from Amazon, but still get strain, I think it's a hazard of the job.
And there are some very good desk clamp holders for your iPad which would help.
Some good options in the apple store......

Time for some 'creative ergonomics' ;^)
I screwed mine to the wall, although I'm have some problems with the touch screen now.
Just checked them out..pricey..that desk clamp with gooseneck..over 300 ..Amazon do something similar for 30.. Just search for iPad stands..

@PaulB ideal
Don't you just love the Pound Shop
I do when I have a pound.
An old bird table and a few lengths of 2x2 should do it from the neighbours garden.....they won't be needing them ! Free at half the price.....
I also thought of hanging it from the ceiling...somehow...hmmmmmm
What I've got is like a pillow, but its got a slot to put your iPad in. Easy to angle, good for positioning it just about any way you want (even on top of other stuff)
It's called the typillow or something.
Only problem is if you have the ipad3, you have to take it out occasionally because it gets so damned hot!
.
Ergonomics is a challenge for any computer user - select a suitable stand and your neck will be happy again.
BTW - anyone using Otterbox ( iPad case ) for music? Is it suitable?
