  • Yeah. Taylor rocks. Love that guy. :-)

  • Audulas scares me to death....seriously I'm crap at math..too much time spent in sleazy recording studios when I was young...

    The maths module is so that when they say "Take it away..." you have something to do the taking away on.

    @Ryan, thanks man!

    @thesoundtestroom, you can still use the patches others have posted on the audulus forum that use the math node. In fact you don't even need to buy the upgrade to do that :-)

    This thread has a bunch of examples: http://forum.audulus.com/discussion/160/ye-olde-math-nerd-shoppe

    cheers

    This is only a little thing you can make with Math in Audulus....in this I have filter it inside iPulsaret :-)

  • How good and useful is the app..i.e would I find it useful.

    There's a lot of patches on Audulus forum already made you can open in Audulus and save, a lot are effects you can use in the Audiobus effect slot, it works in all 3 AB slots but some of the setups are made for effects in AB effects skot

  • @thesoundtestroom Um... hard to say if you'd find it useful. I mean, it is deffinitely useful but there is a learning curve for sure, I had to watch several instructional videos and even after that I still had to ask Taylor questions. So you can't just open it up and go go go like with alchemy or something. It's not just a synth app, or an audio effects app.. It's a blank slate to build what you wish. It let's you be creative not only with designing the sound but also in how you arrange it visually. It's art. For example, I made a patch called "Tesla Coil Distortion" which ended up looking like some kind of electrical turbine. Kind of on the nose for a massive distortion patch. Anyhow, sure it's not easy, but all in all there is no other synth or effects processor app that gives you this amount of control. Not even close. (that i know of anyhow) :-)

  • Thanks Ryan, I am tempted and I do like the idea of building sounds and FX from scratch..so you push your guitar or anything else through it then..

  • @thesoundtestroom Yeah. There is a guitar 2 synth patch kicking around somewhere too. But You can run anything through it, or you can build a synth from scratch and play it with the on screen controller or a midi controller.. Probably vitural midi too, but i haven't tried that. I guess if you wanted to just download patches and play them you'd cut down on the learning curve significantly but I imagine it will just spark your interest in learning to make your own. :-)

  • I've played around with designing myself, but for the most part, I've stuck to the patches built in or those I've downloaded on the forum. It's great to learn the intricacies of synthesis, but finding the time to really get it dialed in is tough for me.

  • @funjunkie27, that's a good point... it can definitely be time consuming. As Audulus matures, we'll have more high-level modules (entire synths, effects, as opposed to smaller building blocks), so you'll be able to build something really quickly. That's my goal at least :-)

    cheers
