It was done so well, it blended right in!
It really IS easy enough to export from gadget to a daw, then rec vox etc. If anything needs tweaking just go back to gadget and tweak.
Of course I'd like audio track in gadget myself, I just don't think it suits its current layout. If they do add audio gadget it still won't be linear but loop based and most definitely audio won't carry through to the next scene. It would need to be something like the audio recorder in tabletop. Not the most desirable way to record audio.
Nice PS job Matt. I used to mess with it too. Good few years back when I had time to spare.
I noticed it! I figured that's what it was for. I still kind of think an Audio Gadget will be the last instrument type of gadget they add, so as to milk it as much as they can. In the meantime I'd like to see some midi controller gadgets, maybe some effects gadgets along with return tracks.
Like a "Gene Hackman's winning smile" huge sense of self worth?
@mf2k perhaps?
Glad you called out the reel to reel. I assumed it was a part of the original as a two track bounce. Fine work MF2k.
@syrupcore - mf2k - mmm sounds a bit like a type of machine gun. But thanks.
I was imagining you entering a room, arms up, eyes blazing, "I'm mother fucking two thousand!"
That's more like it . I could work with that.
Slightly more on topic, I respectfully and somewhat regretfully agree with @supadom. Audio tracks in Gadget doesn't really make sense. I just want Korg to make sure it syncs like a champ with whichever well intentioned (and implemented) audio recorder I choose to use.
The iTunes description used to say "There's a roadmap for future updates that will add new gadgets and support audio tracks, further perfecting the system as a mobile music production studio" - who knows why they took it out.
I'm hoping they make the clips work like Ableton or iKaossilator which doesn't seem like it would be a difficult thing for them to do.
Matt's family would be so proud But actually, I think a stage name that creeps your own people out is probably a good place to start....got to separate yourself somehow from the ledehosen snapshots and memories of scooters...
RE: Audio tracks not working
They'd work just fine. It'd essentially amount to having audio loops rather than midi loops. So say you wanted to work a Nave track in a Gadget project, just record your loops into each scene like you would with midi.
I had it made into a tattoo.
Ha ha. That's more like it!
They could just give us unlimited sample lengths like in nano studio. (And maybe some audio editing widget - like in nano studio). That would work enough to have a Nave audio part running.
The thing I like about Gadget is that my whole track is contained within it. As soon as I start having to have another track running and synced in another DAW - or I have to render Gadget out - it kills the 'constantly tweakable' workflow I love.
I did notice the tape recorder because it has no shadow. But I thought it was a logo from a website or something.
Download entire folders from Dropbox.
Aa a good thread as any for 'quick questions' for the panel I guess:
How do you delete files in Cubasis from 'Trash'?
I have a boatload to get rid of, highlight them individually and hit the little trash can, but has no effect. Any ideas?
If you press and hold the trash button it will empty the whole trash bin.
@Bootsy thanks so much. Will give that a try forthwith.....
