I own the Everything bundle on my PC...unclear whether I need the Pro version to be able to access them for the iPad. Anyone know?

You need the pro. It mention this on the manual (press "?" on the left to show the manual)

  • I don't get the manual, I get a blank white panel.

  • Martin Neuhold just posted a fantastic soundcloud piece over at the IPad musician Facebook group that shows off just why so many people are loving the sound of this synth! If any of you belong to that group , do yourself a favor and check it out. I have not figured how to link to it yet but will give it a shot later when I come in from mowing hopefully.

  • @Tritonman Love the image of you out somewhere in the North Forty on a rider mower checking Facebook :)image

Okay, so I wrote KV331 about the IAP expansion packs issue, and now I'm waiting for a reply. My worst fear is that one would have to purchsae the sample packs through their website in order to have them within SM Player iOS (which, quite frankly, runs into over $250 worth of money since they're like $15 a crack). I hope that that isn't the case and that they're cheaper via IAP due to it being a closed app environment, because purchasing them through the website at full expense would really suck.

Also, there are a couple of packs on the website not listed within SM Player iOS' interstructure, so maybe these ones will be IAP-only and cheaper. We'll see.

I am hoping/expecting an update (in communication if not immediately in software) at some point to clarify this all.

  • I believe the developer has stated that the additional IAP sound packs will be rolled out shortly, and would available to purchase on the device. They are "placeholders " for now until they're able to be sold.

  • This is the first foray into iOS, so I'm more than willing to cut them some slack to work out some of these bugs. Music can be made with his app, it just takes a little work right now.

It's also a good example of why developers focus on iOS 8-only apps, as testing on multiple iOS versions is cumbersome. iOS 8 has been out since September 2014, with an adoption rate of 86%. It's time to move forward.

I held on to seven as long as I could but I started to have more problems and realized finally it was time to let go. I can definately say it was a wise choice given how much smoother things have gotten. I understand from my own experience how hard it can be to let go but if your going to continue with IPad music making it is the right choice at this point IMO.

  • Let go? After 8.3 just locked us out of gaining access to app directories? I'm sticking with 7.1.2, possibly forever. It may be a closed ecosystem to new apps, but I'm very happy with what I've got already. iOS 8 can suck it.

If you are happy with 7 then I am happy for you. my comment was not for those happy with just older apps for sure, like I said I held on as long as (I) could and only let go of seven when it no longer was making me happy. I do understand your choice. I still have 7 on my mini but since upgrading to an air and eight I do not ever use the older version anymore at all.

Yeah, I never mess around with iFunbox or directories or that sort of thing, so iOS 8.3 isn't an issue for me as it is for you.

Plus, as a blogger I had to go to iOS 8 early on to review many iOS 8-only apps. I've got no regrets at this point.

Sounds like it's the appstore's fault then. They have to approve everything and take days to do so. What a pain, lol.

Why register for an IAP?....that's bovine excrement!

  • I'm sure there will be a sale for the expansion packs eventually. There' a reason why the developer asked us for our names and email addresses in order to get the 100 free sounds.

Common marketing practice. IK Multimedia does pretty much the same thing with iGrand and iElectric.

  • Individual liberty. The free market. Ain't it grand.

  • Well you could looks at it this way, you can't even get a demo version of Mac/PC software without supplying your details , no one ever moaned about that, and for everyone staying on iOS 7, cool beans and good on ha....BTW there is a storm coming

  • edited May 2015

@thesoundtestroom The storm's already here. We softy southerners gave serious consideration to clearing out the cupboard under the stairs and having a Saturday night huddle..

  • Sometimes we get the occasional strong wind, usually after a curry!

@JohnnyGoodyear We've been pretty qood up north.

  • I'm up north too. Stay safe fellas.

  • Turnado warning? Stay safe Mr J.

Synthmaster runs without any issues for me, even via AB, has great sounds and so a nice free gift. Not sure if I'll use it much as I'm not really into sample packs, the controllers are good though.

  • @JohnnyGoodyear only you can literally steal Dougs thunder :)

I hear from my family in your area that there are floods too and looks like the rain isn't giving up anytime soon. Take care my friend!

  • What a terrible let down this experience has been...................................

  • edited May 2015

@JohnnyGoodyear -- holy shit. All ok? All I got on the north side last night was the flash flood warnings. Were you running apps through Turnado and Flux:FX at the same time? A vortex could form with such a setup.

    As for SM, it's dope!

  • @TozBourne Walked around surveying The Goodyear Estate (ha!) early this morning and I understand what self-pruning pecan trees means now. Place is a pickle but the roof's intact...off to a picnic on the previously-dry Lake Travis. Taking waders. Bummed the kayaks are in Maine...

  • I paid 4.99 but it was not mentioned in the app. The icon appeared later... Then I saw what looked like 15+ iap of sample packs like dubtronocs or whatever. Is that true or I'm tripping and those were included in the 800 presets for 4.99? HMMM, its sick so far tho. Im glad they at least give you some parameters! I mean just the filter reverb was great.
