PPG Wavegenerator Question - How to Import Your Own Samples?

I'm pretty much familiar with how PPG Wavegenerator works by now, but I am having one issue - how in the hell do I import my own audiosamples into Wavegenerator? It's easy to do this in Nave, no question about it. I'd like to be able to do the same in WG? I searched Google and couldn't find a satisfactory tutorial. Is there a way to do this? Any help is always appreciated. :)

Not 100% sure on this but I think you can only import Wavetables .wts files can be copied across in ifunbox or itunes. Then you can select the wavetables you've imported in the Wave screen the folder icon in the top right..Your imported wavetables appear in the list.

I found this bit of software which I think (not totally sure again) converts samples to wavetables for use in the app http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=398194

I think another way is if you've got Wavemapper , then you can import samples in there and then it converts to wavetables which you can also use in WaveGenerator.

Wavemapper is worth getting btw if you don't have it already :)

Ahhhhhhh! So THAT'S the missing link right there, lol. I don't have the money to get that juuuust yet since I dropped it all on iM1, lol. I wonder if Nave can export .wts files. Time to experiment!

Nice. Have both but hadn't made that leap.

  • Nave can't...at least not within the app itself (iFunbox would probably work, I don't think iTunes File Sharing is setup for that purpose). I really wish it did though.

I've never tried importing samples into Wavegenerator, but I'm curious and will try that out tonight. Thanks for the info @Carnbot, that's odd Wavemapper could import samples but Wavegenerator can't.

  • Found this which might be of interest too, all VS waveforms of the Korg Wave Station converted into wavetables for Wave Generator https://www.dropbox.com/s/r7bchz2ip61gqiw/PPG.rar?dl=0

  • @Carnbot I love downloadng random .rar files off the internet (actually, I do :)...once de-rar'd, what then?

If you put those .wts files in the Wavegenerator folder with iTunes/iFunbox. Then they appear in the list of wavetables you can use in the Wave section. they appear at the bottom of the list in the user section :)

btw according to the source they are allowed officially by Korg, here's the original link http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=251&t=398289

  • @Carnbot much appreciated, thank you Effendi.
