Super curious about this app. What's the word on the street people?
Edit: ignore this, it's not free. Out of date info.
FREE PARKING
Seriously, it's free. 3 effects and 3 amp/ cab combinations included. Amps can use pairs of cabs, cabs can be mixed and matched, choice of 4 types of mics for each cab. 10 preset pedalboard, up to 3 pedals per preset. New amps/cabs and pedals come as IAPs in 12 pack bundles, but not expensive (£6.99/US$9.99). All bundle contents have descriptions and previews. Download it and try it out.
Been waiting for this update for 6 months. It upgrades the firmware in a Guitar Jack 2 to 24 bits. Worked! I was a little nervous about bricking the hardware but the upgrade was easy and painless.
GuitarTone is 24 bit and can be run in mono or stereo. It offers a variety of amps, speakers, mics and effects you can mix or match. You can have two different cabs and mics and up to 3 effects in a chain. Not as many adjustments as Ampkit but a good sound and it's true stereo. It is essential for GJ2 owners. That's how you set up the interface. I'll use it a lot more now that it's on the bus. GJ2 owners get the first IAP bundle free.
Portrait mode only. Sigh. Someday, soon I hope.
Don't know if it is a stereo input when used in the effects slot.
.
@PaulB It's $2.99 in Canada. :-/
Ahh, sorry, my mistake. I already had it and the app store just said 'update', so I googled for a linked page to find out the price. That page must have been out of date.
It used to be free, i wasn't impressed though.I ll install it again
@PaulB No probs man. At $40 for IAP's it would be nice if it were free, especially to celebrate audiobus. $3 isn't bad either. But heck, that's 3 boxes of discount kraft dinner. lol
@Evangelos I'd love to get your take on it. You are good guitarist and I've enjoyed your recordings. Thanks man. :-)
It was free until April 23rd.
I had downloaded, but never played with it - I'll have to give at least the included effects a shot now that it's got AB support. Not sure if I'd use it as I'm invested in JamUp at this point (and currently saving for a real pedal or two, JamUp got me playing with my real-life guitar again!)
I'm very happy with JamUp, but would consider GuitarTone if it played better with synths from the FX slot. Has anyone tried this?
I played with it today for half an hour or so.The amps and pedals in the basic version are limited.3 amps and 3 pedals i think. There are loads of amps and pedals as in app purchases.
The stereo effect is nice. The clean blues sounds are nice. The distortion..hmmm...
I use Magellan on the effects usually with Jamup and again Magellan does a great job with Guitar tone too.
I ll upload something on soundcloud later on
@Ryan Thanks for the nice comments my friend
I used my iphone so no magellan on effect slot. Some reverb on Multitrack Daw too.
My sincere apologies for my cold fingers and the sloppy playing, improvising with cold fingers may be a ..bitch sometimes..I used the stereo effect in 50% and went through some of the presets.
My verdict is that judging by this basic version (which i can't compare to the full version of Jamup lets say) i would use the clean sounds for a blues track.I liked(not loved) one or two of the crunch presets, but not like the sounds in Jamup and Ampkit. The stereo effect is a very nice addition.
The hum you are hearing is because i hadn't tweaked the noise gate.
Great amp !!!
Hey guys, Daniel from Sonoma Wire Works here, makers of GuitarTone. Thanks for your interest in the app. We MAJORLY tweaked the tones in version 2, so if any of you tried version 1 and weren't satisfied, please give the newest version a go. Also, we are totally open to any constructive criticism, so if you have any suggestions, send them our way! We're excited to "be on the 'bus" and appreciate the interest!
