Audiomux straight to soundcard?
Does someone know if you can play on the ipad straight to the soundcard through audiomux? like how to set it and route it! Maybe with audio Hijack?

.
MusicIO needs VST Plug-In to record while AudioMux acts as an AudioSource which any app capable of recording audio can use.
MusicIO does for now have the advantage of multiple audio-streams.
Personally i prefer AudioMux and MidiMux over MusicIO when i need to do audio between my MB Air and my iPad.
Sorry, my mistake, thought it was a Music IO thread...
So if it is treated as an audio source, and going through the MBP, how do I get it to play on my sound card? What will be the routing?
It's fairly simple, select the 'iPad' as audio In (AudioMux creates this input), and your speakers or soundcard as the output (This is done in system preferences/sound).
In the pictures I've chosen the iPad as 'Input' and feeding the output to my Behrincer UCA-202 (Show's Up as USB Audio Codec).
Don't forget you need also to setup AudioBus so AudioMux has something to send to your computer.
(Desired App in the Input slot and AudioMux in the Output Slot).
Yes, fairly simple, but honestly I would not have thought of doing that! Many thanks! Now my audiomux don't want to connect via USB but at least I know how to do it, when the connection will be sorted! ;-)
Thanks for the info here. Having just watched Dougs latest video running all those apps on I presume an air or air2, would one be able to record that session on another iPad using anything like audiomux?
It should be possible to use AudioMux to stream the output to a computer (don't know how much overhead it would generate). Usually i use AudioShare to record my iPad doodlings...
Thanks @Samu.
Was hoping for a non computer solution. In Doug's demo, synthmaser, animoog, rock drum machine, seek beats, effectrix, dub, cassini and were all running thru audiobus and it looked like no more resources on the ipad to run even audioshare. I was hoping for a completely mobile solution using ipad -> ipad or even ipad -> iphone where the second idevice handled the audioshare bit.
Who knows what future versions of AudioBus have in store, maybe a 'session recorder' with export to AudioShare once the session record is stopped
A 'session recorder' would be perfect. would even pay as an IAP for that.
I have made it work on ableton, what was wrong, is I didn't know you had to open audiobus first, and then from audiobus, open audiomux as output, but in this order! But not success on having the ipad on it own on the soundcard, I presume you can only route it through a DAW!
