iConnectMIDI2 power supply ?

Has anyone found an alternative (if there is a safe alternative) to the iConnectivity one ?

In the UK they are very rare at the moment, there's one on ebay, but I baulk at paying almost £40 for a transformer and a few bits of electronics. It looks like the official one is pretty hefty - 6 volts / 3 amps in order to charge the iPads.

cheers

  • I take it there isn't an option that anyone has found ?
I wanted to get one to charge the Pad whilst using the iCM2, would this cause any long term detrimental effects regarding the battery, I wonder ?

  • Thomann seems to have in stock for now.

  • Thanks, yes I've just seen them there, just debating whether it's worth 40 euros.

  • I used my adapter for my iodock just fine now for 1.5 years, if you can find a similar specced one I don't see any problem although you obv won't get support for it. It's a through back to the "Yamaha" days where they sold adapter superately for keyboards. Bit of a rip off of you ask me.

Certainly not worth (plus the shipping cost) ? But 6 volt power supply seems rare . If it was 5volt you could easily find one. I don't recommend switching power supplies since they tend to add noise to the audio signal.
