phase84 synth background activity draining battery???
i turned off background app refresh some weeks ago and this synth is still using some resources????

You might want to check in Settings, Notifications to make sure it isn't checking for Notifications. Retronyms probably sets their apps. to some ridiculous polling frequency since their main goal is to have apps. with the most tracks posted "..by talented producers and beat makers."
