Support iOS music... Please vote for my track
Hi,
Shameless promotion, so sorry for that. And sorry for Song of the Month people who've heard this and given brilliant feedback.
If you'd be able to listen to, and (if you like it) vote for my track in the "Converse Rubber Tracks" competition i'd be eternally grateful. Think of it as a vote for iOS music making if you like (I used Gadget)...
Comments
Can't vote until the sixth, but will do then. Good luck, however I hate contests that are decided by public vote, because they end up being awarded to those who have the most reach on Facebook rather than on merit. At least you can muster some support from the forum
Thanks @Richardyot Mmm. I managed to vote already and other tracks have votes.
There's there's also a prize awarded purely on judging.
You have to be a member of Indaba Music to vote before the 6th.
It seems public voting is today sometime? I think it's that dodgy American date format? Where the date and month are reversed. But it still says I can't vote even though it is the 3rd so will try later.
Thanks guys. It used Facebook to let me vote.
Ah. That'll be it @Richardyot thanks.
I'll bump again on the 6th.
Thanks for working it out for me!
Indaba won't let me sign in or up for some reason, I was a member on there at one point. I will definitely vote when the public voting starts.
Actually Fitz is right, I was thrown by the US date format, public voting should start today but it's not working for me at the moment, I get an error message. Facebook is not an option for me, as I am Faceless.
Thought it was easier just to join Indaba music. Supporting iOS sounds a good idea, but it is indeed a good track. Especially like that mad Darabuka type drummer late in the track!
THE MAD DRUMMER WILL ALWAYS GET MY VOTE!
Ha ha... thanks everyone. That's very kind of you and I really do appreciate it.
Sadly I don't have 1,000 Facebook friends who will all vote for me
I did my civic duty and voted. Love the piano on the track. Did you use Module? I would bet it is the Ivory expansion.
Thank you. Very much appreciated.
Yes, it's module. But just basic Salzburg. Not the extra Irory one. I also used the Module Clav gadget for the lead and one of the less narly basses.
Module is pretty wonderful
Hi. Shameless bump. Sorry.
Thank you so much to people who have listened / voted.
Just to say that anyone can vote now.

Currently in 74th place.
I've deliberately not revealed that the whole thing was made in Gadget because I would like the judges not to be distracted / prejudiced by this. If it gets a prize though... I'll bang on about how it was made entirely on iOS !
I'm sorry, it won't let me vote. Indiana won't let me sign in and public voting requires Facebook, which I don't have. Good track though!
Indiana has a lot to answer for dammit.
Didn't seem to connect to Facebook when I tried just now, I'll check again later...
Took some fiddling with, but I signed into my old (very dusty) FB account and it seemed to do the trick etc.
Thanks guys. Makes sense I guess. To prevent multiple voting.
Sorry for the hassle. And thanks again.
Thanks @mrufino1 - very much appreciate you trying.
You're welcome, I'll try to see if indaba has a way to get a password back, I had a membership at some point.
One thing to watch out for is the site asks you to listen to the track before voting. For some reason after playing Matt's track it automatically loads the next contestant's page. I had to go back, fast forward to the end of the track and pause it right before it ended. That way Matt's vote button stays on the screen!
