  • That’s a point — does Garageband actually even use midi internally, or some other representation of note events?

There was a working build for Auria pro since jan/feb , and it's been 4 months and they have Smitematter and a few others on the beta- so what gives?

Rim stated back in May that Auria Pro was not in beta yet and that the sampler UI wasn't built yet, so it's not surprising there is a delay. It's nothing sinister, or even a cause for concern, it's just normal software development, things sometimes take longer to do than anticipated.

My guess is that the release will happen this summer.

  • Not too high, not too low....

Rim has just posted today on the Auria forum saying that Auria Pro is still not in beta, still finalising the sampler. He's probably regretting promising a spring release, it will be late summer or even autumn at this rate. :)

  • I would imagine that won't go down well with the people expecting great things from Auria Pro. Personally, I would prefer it if it means a more stable bug-free release, when it arrives.

I'm sure he's regretting mentioning Spring at all but it certainly wasn't a promise - merely an aspiration. To be fair to the guy, Rim has always stressed that it'll be ready when it's ready, and not before. I'm sure that'll disappoint (even anger) a number of people but Rim's consistent in that regard ;)
